And while there’s on doubt that This is Us has managed to make its cast huge stars and household names, it won’t be getting an Emmy – in this category, at least. According to reports, the show is losing its costume nomination after it was determined that their nominated episode does not meet category requirements.

The Hollywood Reporter says that in order to be eligible for a nomination, the episode’s storyline has to take place within the last 25 years. Unfortunately, the episode titled ‘Moonshadowing’ takes place in the early 1970s, which means it doesn’t meet the category’s requirements. Therefore the Awards Committee of the TV Academy has determined that the show’s nomination be revoked.

The other nominations in the category include Big Little Lies, Empire, Grace and Frankie and Amazon’s series Transparent.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that an Emmy nomination has been revoked. It’s happened several times in the past, including to Dennis Miller in 1995, Henry Winkler in 2000 and Peter MacNicol in 2016.

But fear not, This is Us fans. The series is still nominated in ten different categories for this year’s Emmy ceremony. In the meantime, let us know what you think by sounding off in our comments section!
