‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Brandon Beemer Recast As Shawn Douglas Brady – Jason Cook Out

'Days Of Our Lives' Spoilers: Brandon Beemer Recast As Shawn Douglas Brady - Jason Cook OutJason Cook is currently reprising his role as Shawn Douglas Brady and many DOOL fans are thrilled to have him back. However, you should enjoy Cook playing the character while you can. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers indicate that Cook is only around for a two-month stint in Salem. Though Cook is headed out, Shawn D will be sticking around. That means the NBC soap has called on someone else to fill Cook’s shoes in the coming months.  Recasts are often tough for daytime dramas to pull off, but they’re just something soap viewers must accept.

Fortunately, the blow of losing Cook could be softened slightly. Another familiar face is stepping into the role. The rumors have been hinting that Brandon Beemer would be taking over and we now know those rumors are correct. “Days of Our Lives” cast members have been tweeting out pics from the show’s 50th anniversary celebration and Beemer is very visible on set. Jason47’s “Days” website confirmed that Beemer is indeed the new(ish) Shawn D and will appear on screen in 2016.

Beemer was actually the last actor to play Shawn before he was let go in 2008. Martha Madison is also reprising the part of Belle and will show up sometime in November. Since Beemer and Madison previously worked together on “Days,” producers obviously knew what kind of chemistry to expect. Cook apparently wouldn’t agree to a longer stay, but Beemer might be the least jarring solution to the recast problem. Cook fans had the opportunity to see his version of Shawn for DOOL‘s 50th anniversary, but Beemer fans will get their chance as well.

The important thing is that Shawn D is staying in town. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) is going to need all of her friends and family nearby as she tries to move past her horrific ordeal with Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove). Plus, the rumors say Bo (Peter Reckell) may be killed off when he wraps up his run. Having Shawn around could help Hope get through whatever lies ahead. Stick with “Days of Our Lives” for updates on what the future holds for the Bradys.

So “Days” fans, what do you think about the news that Brandon Beemer is taking over for Jason Cook? Are you glad they chose to go with a familiar recast of Shawn instead of a completely new one? I just don’t like who they are bringing in as kids to everyone on DOOL. They used to do a pretty good job at picking out children who looked like their parents who play them now they don’t look a thing like them. Jason Cook was a great choice as he definitely resembles both Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso. Now they are going with whoever. I also do not like all these people they are bringing in, not believable to the storyline or their respective parents.
