Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) Dedication Night went off without a hitch on Tuesday night, but if you hadn’t heard about Val Chmerkovskiy’s drama with Carrie Ann Inaba, you might have wondered why his partner, Jenna Dewan, danced with pro dancer Alan Bersten.
Val Chmerkovskiy Sits Out Dedication Night
If you hadn’t heard, Val called out Carrie Ann Inaba after she criticized his wife, Jenna Johnson, and he shared several angry social media posts in her defense. One of them said, “You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.”
He has since apologized, but that didn’t change the outcome, and per Celebrating the Soaps, he was suspended from Dancing With the Stars for Dedication Night.
Jenna Dewan Shines With Alan Bersten
Interestingly, his partner, Jenna Dewan, did really well with Alan Bersten and tied for second place with Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, behind Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov. Jenna scored 37 points.

TVLine noted that Jenna chose to dance a Viennese Waltz to Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers and dedicated it to her mom, Nancy. During the episode, a live chat on Reddit’s r/dancingwiththestars sub brought some reactions to Jenna.
One person wrote, “Alan looked better with Jenna. He made her look softer, which she needs.”
Talking about Val, another DWTS fan quipped, “Obsessed with the show treating Val like Voldemort he who shall not be named.”
Tyler Cameron Shares Two Big Reveals
But Val wasn’t the main topic of the evening. Plenty of people talked about the fact that nobody got sent home on Dedication Night.
They also chatted about two reveals that happened during the episode. Not only was there a gender reveal, but also a pregnancy announcement.
Both reveals were about Tyler Cameron, the former Bachelor Nation star who was performing with pro partner Sharna Burgess.
Tyler danced to Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran and dedicated it to his own mom, who passed away in 2020, and to moms everywhere.
His fiancée, Tate Madden, joined him when he read out a letter to his mom and added, “Tate’s gonna be the most incredible mama, just like you. And we’re gonna have a baby. I can’t believe I’m gonna be a dad.”

Host Alfonso Ribeiro called for the gender reveal, and the whole place erupted into a pink confetti storm.
Back on Reddit, one Dancing With the Stars fan said, “Using this dance to announce their pregnancy is such a vote grab I can’t even be mad lmao.”
Meanwhile, another viewer penned, “Well, now I’m blubbering. I never expected that from Tyler.”
