‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Dylan Rejects Sharon’s Excuses – Double Lies Destroys Couple

Sharon (Sharon Case) never told her husband that she miscarried on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Then, she concealed the results of a DNA test that confirmed Sully was actually Christian. So, Sharon had to expect that Dylan (Steve Burton) would reject whatever pleas she made when this double deception was finally admitted.

In the real world lying about losing a baby would naturally be revealed either through eventual acknowledgment or by the father’s recognition of reality. But Dr. Sandra Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) kidnapped Christian Newman, convinced Sharon that she was pregnant again and later gave birth. That soapy scenario enabled Sharon to further her farce.

Someone who lies relies on a coverup to protect the initial misdeed. In this instance, Sharon rationalized her behavior as best for Dylan and for her family. But she actually didn’t care that Nick (Joshua Morrow) continued to grieve for the son he thought had died after being born prematurely. How could she possibly do that to the father of Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Noah (Robert Adamson)?

Nick spoke with justified rage when he told ‘Shylan’ they had no right to keep his son. Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) arrival at the cottage helped to temporarily soothe Nick’s temper, as he realized that Christian didn’t need to be taken that night from the only home that he ever knew. However, Nick advised that he would return to get his son the next day.

Sharon stood united with Dylan in their protection of the boy they think of as their son. However, that soon changed when Nick and Chelsea departed. Dylan advised that he would be sleeping in the nursery with ‘Sully’ and that Sharon could do as she pleased. Sharon was soon shown crying on the sofa, as she gripped the baby monitor and listened to Dylan speak to his nephew.

Soon after Nick returns to take Christian, Dylan seems sure to depart as well. At that point, ‘Shylan’ will be officially over. And Sharon will only be blaming herself.
