King Charles III is officially the monarch of the UK, but behind the scenes, is Prince William really running the show? Read on to find out who might be wearing the pants, if not the crown, when it comes to decisions from the Palace.

A Shift In Power

According to royal commentator Neil Sean, a quiet shift in power seems to be going on within the monarchy. During his Daily News Headlines vlog on Saturday night, Sean argued that no matter what the British public think is going on, the reign of Prince William already began.

From recent sources, rumors, and actions taken by the royal family, Sean opined that the Prince of Wales increases his levels of influence and becomes increasingly involved in managing the Crown’s most difficult affairs. He claimed that William’s “actively taking on more and more and more royal decisions and royal duties.”

Backed By The King?

Importantly, Prince William isn’t willy-nilly assuming command. Apparently the transfer of responsibility reportedly occurs with the full backing of King Charles III.

Sean cited his “excellent source,” noting “his majesty the king is more than grateful” for the support. Obviously, he could use some of that given the health issues that Charles deals with.

The Andrew Issue

Sean pointed out that his sources claim it was William who handles the scandals and crisis at the moment. According to rumor, William was “instrumental in organizing the problem of Prince Andrew (and) the problem of Sarah Ferguson.”

Next, there’s something else to think about. Another story arose that Sarah Ferguson and Andrew wanted to use the late Queen’s dogs as an excuse to stay on in Royal Lodge. However, Sean revealed that William, “allegedly, has made sure that the dogs cannot be…promoted, monetized.”

William Can Be Hot-Headed

The royal family expert chatted about the different type of leadership that William might bring. In fact, he assessed King Charles as a leader who “knows to take things at a bit more of a pace,” understanding that the public dislikes being “shocked and cajoled.”

On the other hand, William comes across as a bit “hot-headed.” Allegedly, that trait emerged when “William decided it was now time to take action” against Prince Andrew.

‘Be Careful What You Wish For’

On social media, most people thoroughly approve of Prince William, and they look forward to his reign. However, Sean cautioned folks on that. He reminded viewers that “every monarch changes everything.” While many folks desire change, he invoked the old adage, “be careful what you wish for.”

Certainly, it seems that when the time comes for a formal handover of leadership, William will be a decisive and forceful leader. Then again, it seems he is already being all of those things. So, Sean concluded that in effect, William is already a de facto monarch.

Royal Family Fans React

In the comments section of the vlog, one viewer wrote, “William has the insight, awareness and strength to do what’s best for the monarchy! He will be a wonderful King!”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion area:

  • It’s fine the king is OK with giving William more rein considering his health.
  • I am comforted to see William taking on more. Charles knows his reign will be short in comparison to the late Queen. Preparing William now will mean a very smooth transition when it comes.
  • Prince William has the strength and integrity needed to help the King in this time.
