On October 27, King Charles went out to meet and greet the public at Lichfield Cathedral. Unfortunately, he was greeted with shouts and heckles. Is this a major problem for the monarchy, given the headaches that Prince Andrew brings? Read on to find out.
Discussing The Heckling
On Sky News Australia on Tuesday, the anchor talked about how a protester shouted questions about Prince Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, demanding to know, “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?” And “Have you asked the police to cover up for Andrew?”

The King ignored the disturbance and carried on as usual, shaking hands and smiling. Well, apparently, it’s doing the rounds on social media, and it might be a signal that everyone is fed up with the monarchy.
Royal commentator Josh Rom joined the conversation and seemed to think the heckling wasn’t a big problem for the monarch right now. In his opinion, much bigger problems might be on their minds, so it’s not likely that heckling is a massive worry.
It’s Not All Roses, Though
While Charles remained unflustered, the incident does raise some questions about public opinion regarding the Epstein case. Clearly, some members of the public wonder how much the royal family knew about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s involvement.
It’s bad PR that could become quite impactful. Josh explained, “I think that might be a slightly more concerning area that the royal family will not want to go down whatsoever.”
Royal Family Followers React
In the comments section, some folks naturally discussed Prince Andrew and the Royal Lodge. But, they also chatted about King Charles being heckled. One of them wrote, “one heckler omg it’s the downfall of the monarchy get a grip.”
Nevertheless, others felt that it does signal a general feeling that the monarchy should go. Here are a few more responses from the discussion area:
- Of course the crowd defended their king. What you need to worry about is the ones who stay home. The royal family are becoming more unpopular day by day. Andrew is the catalyst, the public will continue to put the whole family under scrutiny…
- Actually, Charles is as disgusting as Andrew, and Elizabeth is responsible for the slimeyness of both. If Charles doesn’t vacate real soon to give William and Kate opportunity, then the British monarchy should be ended
- Maybe it’s time that the British monarchy is dismantled they are not needed anymore.
- Great on the the guy saying that. He needs to made-accountable for not listening to the people… a waste of space, and tax payers money funding them all. we do not need them we never did.
What are your thoughts? Might the heckling just be the beginning? Does the monarch need to be more transparent and decisive about his brother Andrew? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all our royal family news and updates.
