Recent reports claimed Prince William and King Charles had stopped speaking to each other and tensions mounted between them. The rumor suggested the disagreement arose after William’s interview with Eugene Levy on Apple TV. However, the feud seems to have been debunked. Read on for more details.
The Interview Upset The Monarch?
On Sunday, during his Daily News Headlines vlog, royal commentator Neil Sean discussed the alleged conflict. Sean praised William’s interview, noting how the Prince told the public “just enough about what he’d gone through in his life.”

Notably, Sean seemed very impressed with his openness. Yet, “certain royal experts” claimed the interview caused a “bone of contention” and “offended and upset” King Charles.
Now, Neil Sean is a very experienced journalist, not just someone who decided to do a vlog one day. So, he knows how things work. Plus, he knows Eugene Levy, the Apple host. Additionally, he maintains some very close insider sources in the palace. So, he explained more about how these interviews happen.
How It Works
Historically, Sean explained, royal staff sent anything outside the usual charitable work to the Queen, who received it “via a letter” out of “courtesy and respect.” Often, the formal process allowed discussion of how the project would sit with the monarchy.
In line with that tradition, Prince William followed all the right protocols. First, he wrote to his father, “explaining the background and why he wanted to do it.” Apparently, they then held an “informal meeting.” After the original edit was completed with Apple TV, the team sent a copy to the Palace for full approval.
Debunking The King Being Upset
Allegedly, there wasn’t any tension over what Prince William said in the interview. That’s because, according to the royal family expert, “Palace staff screened it” for the King. Additionally, there were “no such kickbacks whatsoever.” Sean insisted that “everybody was fully happy, including his majesty the King, with the final edit.”
Furthermore, an exclusive source told Sean that once King Charles saw the interview, he felt “delighted with it.” Subsequently, The King wrote to his son and said he “thought he’d done a marvelous job and well done,” praising the “very honest and…raw interview.”
Where Do The Rumors Come From?
Sean believes that those naysaying Charles liking the interview are “the distractors from across the pond.” He thinks they want to “drive a wedge between the King and William for obvious reasons.” And, he reminded his followers that possibly someone in the Sussex camp “wants desperately to get back in and to be the favorites.”
Of course, most royal family fans know that’s “not happening.” The commentator concluded that William and the King “are stronger bonded than ever,” acting “very much on the same page.” He also told his fans that “This is the true story.”
Folks React In The Comments
There seem to be many people in the world who follow every bit of gossip about the monarchy. So, lots of people responded in the comments section. One of them, who seemed grateful to Neil Sean, wrote, “Thanks Neil for setting the record straight although I already knew that false news was being spread by the ‘disrupters.'”
Others also agreed, and another person penned, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (probably a MILLION more times), we don’t believe any of those rumors until we hear it from YOU, Neil. I’m so happy to know that King Charles was as delighted with William’s interview as we were.”
