Lindsay Clancy Trial Takes a Turn as Defense Questions Patrick’s Account

The defense raised questions about parts of Patrick Clancy’s account.on the night his three children were killed by his then-wife Lindsay Clancy.

Not many mainstream media outlets question that because it lies in conspiracy theory territory, but on day 19 of the trial, the defense suggested some doubt about Patrick’s version of events.

Revisiting Witnesses

Things changed on Day 19 of the Lindsay Clancy trial. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington started questioning Patrick Clancy’s version of events, and this time, the state’s main witness faced some pushback.

Lawyer Lee picked up on it while covering the trial on YouTube. Patrick had already told the court what happened. Now, Reddington was starting to question parts of his account.

Doubt In The Courtroom

Lawyer Lee spotted a change in the defense strategy on Day 19.

She said, “for the first time, we have the defense suggesting that maybe Patrick Clancy is lying.”

That came during the cross-examination of prosecution expert Dr. Kirk Heilbrun. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington focused on the moment Patrick found his wife lying in the snow outside their Duxbury home.

Could Lindsay Talk?

Dr. Heilbrun was questioned about his testimony as to how Patrick claimed he asked Lindsay what happened. According to Patrick, Lindsay answered, “I tried to kill myself,” and told him the kids were “in the basement.”

But Reddington then questioned how that could have happened because EMTs who arrived at the scene reported that Lindsay was in critical condition, barely conscious, and unable to speak.

Lawyer Lee explained, “If Lindsay truly was unable to speak, then how did Patrick supposedly hear her say, ‘I tried to kill myself’? And even more importantly, how did he know to get up and sprint to the basement?”

Lawyer Lee noted how this changes the trial: “Suddenly, the jury has a brand new way to understand some of the arguments.”

The Sealed 911 Call

The 911 call Patrick made that night remains a contentious part of the discussion surrounding the case.

Keeping that 911 audio sealed has created a void, so Lawyer Lee argued that “by preventing the public from hearing the call, the court has left the public to speculate without the actual information it would have provided.”

She added that “for everyone’s sake and including for Patrick Clancy’s sake,” the recording needs to be released.

Online Theories

The tension in court comes as media outlets talked about online speculation about Patrick Clancy.

According to NewsNation, “social media conspiracy theories [allege] Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, was responsible for the deaths of their three children.”

Polarised Comments

In the comments of the video by Lawyer Lee, responses were divided over where the defense might be going with Patrick Clancy.

One person felt that Lindsay Clancy seemed to be blaming everyone other than herself for the crime. They added, “everybody, her whole entire circle and even the neighborhood… [are] responsible for the life of the kids, except Lindsay Clancy.”

Another commenter vented that they’d be “so relieved if they could finally investigate all the serious inconsistencies and stop taking Patrick’s word for everything!”

Whether Reddington’s questioning plants real doubt in the minds of the jury remains to be seen, but for now, Patrick’s sitting at the center of Lindsay Clancy’s defense team’s strategy.
