The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) has achieved something remarkable. She has returned from the dead without being arrested for committing a crime.

It is not legal to fake one’s death. Yet, that is what Diane did. She claims knowledge of Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) obtaining a body from the morgue to further the illegal ruse. That is another crime she has not been punished for.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) continues to try and process Diane’s unfathomable coldness in forcing their then-young son to grieve his mother’s murder. However, Bergman’s character believes he can manage Diane in her latest and greatest comeback.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Knows Different

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has Diane’s number. Viewers have already seen that Stafford’s character can maintain her cool when Diane is present.

That self-control angle makes Phyllis a challenge for Walter’s character, as part of Diane’s game is to play mind games and take advantage of her perceived opponent’s off-kilter state.

Diane has often manipulated Jack. Retrospective scenes reminded longtime fans and informed newer viewers that Phyllis battled Diane years ago. This time, a more mature and secure Phyllis is a worthy opponent and an even fiercer defender of Jack.

Y&R Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Was Broken

Diane does love Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). It is also fair to suggest that Diane was not lying when claiming that she decided it was best to remove herself from Kyle’s life by pretending to die.

Walter’s character felt that she was in such a dark place that she couldn’t be a good mother to Kyle. While her conclusion was wrong, her actions proved that she was not mentally balanced.

So, Diane admitted she was incapable of knowing she needed treatment rather than completing a faked-death plan.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Jack Abbott Concerned About Their Son

Jack is very concerned that the shock of Diane’s existence will scar Kyle. However, it seems likely that Kyle’s maturity, marital, and fatherhood status will allow him to handle this reveal.

Diane is likely hoping to reconnect with Kyle. Whether she admits it to herself or not, she may revert to type and then use that success to her advantage in whatever ways are possible in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Jack and Phyllis have become close in recent months. Diane does not know it, but her return makes a revival of Jack and Phyllis more likely than not.
