GH spoilers reveal that Sonny has been married several times in the ABC soap. As for the actor who portrays Sonny, he has only been married once. On August 11, 1990, Maurice tied the knot with Paula Smith Benard.

They still remain married today, which means they have been together for over 30 years. Not only is that a great accomplishment for any married couple, but it is extremely rare in Hollywood.

According to Soaps.com, Benard said during an Instagram video that it’s been an incredible 30 years with Paula. The actor admitted that he doesn’t know what he would have done without Paula.

GH Spoilers – Biological And Adopted Children

Maurice and Paula have three children together. The children’s names are Cailey Sofia Benard, Cassidy Rose Benard, and Joshua James Benard. However, there is a little bit more to their family than the three children.

The couple also adopted Heather Rose, Paula’s younger sister. When Paula and Heather’s mother passed away, the younger sibling was still a minor. So, Paula and Maurice not only took her in, but formally adopted the young lady.

This is due to the complicated Nixon Falls romance Sonny had with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Of course, Sonny had amnesia at the time, which only makes it that much more of an explosive storyline.
