EastEnders’ Flashback Episode Reveals Young Phil And Grant’s Secret

EastEnders spoilers, news, and updates tease that the soap’s flashback episode will feature a young Phil Mitchell (Daniel Delaney) and Grant Mitchell (Teddy Jay) as they go out on a “job” together with their father, Eric Mitchell (George Russo). The new episode ties in with an ongoing storyline in the present day between Phil and DI Samantha Keeble (Alison Newman).

The flashback episode will take viewers back to 1979 and offer a glimpse of how life was for the Mitchells at a time when Britain was going through a tough economic time. Daniel Delaney, the actor who plays the younger version of Phil, said that viewers will see a different side of the character.

“Phil is more timid for sure. The audience will get to see and know the dynamic in the Mitchell household when Eric – Phil’s dad – was around,” he explained.

“He was seen as man of the house and Phil was seen as the understudy, as it were, but it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be a very different Phil,” he added.

The actor is excited to see fans’ reactions and he also believes that it’s crucial for people to know the story of the Mitchells.

EastEnders Spoilers – George Greenland Opens Up About Playing Billy Mitchell

George Greenland takes on the role of Billy Mitchell, a character that was played by Perry Fenwick). The actor said that he was excited to get the role.

“Perry has been doing it for so long, so there is so much material for reference for how Billy ends up after we see him in this episode,” he shared.

The actor revealed that he watched a lot of clips featuring Billy so he’d learn his mannerism and his tone of voice. Greenland grew up watching EastEnders so he had an idea about Billy’s backstory.
