Y & R has certain characters, such as Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), who sometimes get let go and come back, for many years. Then fans begin to think if this character just left, or what their deal is.

Many fans feel that same way about Doug Davidson. Doug will often post cryptic and mysterious things to his social media pages. This gets fans definitely worried that Doug is not coming back as Paul Williams.

From what Doug Davidson has posted recently, it does not look like he will be coming back to Y&R, anytime soon.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Early Days As Paul Williams

Davidson made his The Young and the Restless debut in May 1987 when he played Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) friend and eventually her love interest.

As Paul Williams started having more screen time, he started making fans.

Paul was actually introduced to Genoa City as a bad boy. Soon he became the town hero for most. Paul Williams became a detective like his father, and helped solve a lot of cases.

Actually, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) was a fan favorite for a few decades.
Doug Davidson’s acting on Y&R earned him fans from all over the world. He also won several awards.

Paul Williams was last seen in Genoa City in November of 2020. He was investigating the shooting of Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). After that episode, no one has said a word about Paul Williams.

Paul Williams has had some interesting plots on the show. He has had a lot of ups and downs.

The toughest story was when Paul killed his son, Ricky Williams (Peter Porte). Paul found out that his own son was a murderer.

He went to rescue Eden Baldwin (Jessica Heap) and he ends up shooting and killing his own son.

Paul goes into a deep and dark depression over his son’s death and this performance won Doug Davidson a Daytime Emmy award.

Y&R Spoilers – Is It The End?

According to several sources, including Soap Opera Network, Doug has been tweeting about being finished with the show.

He was answering a fan about returning to the show.

Davidson has mentioned several times that he was not happy with CBS and how they treated him and he loves his fans, however, he was not very happy when he was last on the set.

Several social media posts from Doug tell his fans that he is not going back.

There have been many scenes and story lines thrown out, however, Doug Davidson says he will not go back.

No matter what the decision is, we all admire and would love to see Paul Williams make an appearance in Genoa City.
