The Young and The Restless News Update: Y&R Shemar Moore Announces He Has COVID-19

CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that alum Shemar Moore who starred as Malcolm Winters has announced he has tested positive for coronavirus.

The actor who stars as Hondo Harrelson on the CBS nighttime series S.W.A.T. shared his news on Instagram.
“I HAVE COVID!!!!” he posted late Wednesday night. “Just found out moments ago…I am gonna stay [in] wrapping presents… Yes… I have been tested and told me that I HAVE COVID!!!”

He continued on: “I thought I had food poisoning… chills and aches all day today… still can’t smell, taste, no cough, no runny nose… I have to accept test results….fine now…but I have to be responsible!!!!”

He went on to note that he will be taking care of his health in the coming days and is anticipating a low key holiday season. “My Xmas n New Years is clearly not gonna be the best… my last year and a half have not been the best…” he concluded.

Shemar is referring to recent losses that affected his life. He lost his mother Marilyn in February and in 2018 his former Y&R co-star and friend Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) died.

But the actor kept his signature upbeat attitude by saying, “This is a hard time for ALL OF US… the WORLD!!! But…I BELIEVE in the sun shining through the rain!!!”

“Stay safe,” Moore added, “and appreciate everything and everybody you have and had!! MUCH LOVE!!!!” The fan-favorite included the hashtag “#wearamask.”

Moore debuted on the CBS soap in 1994. He was cast him as Malcolm Winters, Neil Winters’ estranged half-brother. He was an instant hit with fans and remains a fan fave.

Malcolm was involved in a controversial storyline in which he slept with Dru Winters (Victoria Rowell) who was with Neil at the time. Dru was affected by cold medicine and thought that Malcolm was Neil, and Malcolm believed that Dru knew she was sleeping with him and not his brother.

As a result, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was born and the secret was kept for years until it was revealed that Malcolm was the dad.

Moore guested on the show as Malcolm in April 2019 for a special episode that addressed Neil’s sudden passing.
