Meghan Markle Vs. Michelle Obama: Who’s More Influential?

Meghan MarkleEveryone knows that in the not too distant past, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed with the prestigious Harry Walker Agency in New York. The firm books celebrities and famous political figures such as Prince Harry and Meghan for speaking engagements at various events worldwide.

For those who don’t know, just some of the other famous speakers signed by the Harry Walker agency include former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Their wives, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton are also signed by the agency.

While there are some fans and insiders that believe Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to start pulling in the big bucks as A-List speakers, with a reported payday of $1 Million each per speaking engagement, neither has actually been booked for any gigs as yet. This, combined with the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties and basically left their entire lives as British Royals behind them, has some wondering if they have what it takes to be as influential as either the Obamas or the Clintons.

Moreover, there are also contradictions among Royal experts as to what to expect when Prince Harry and Meghan finally do start pulling in speaking engagements. Neither has done professional speaking before, and Harry’s repertoire seems limited to speaking on the environment and conservationism. For her part, Meghan appears to want to get into politics, with recent speeches (not with the Harry Walker agency) revolving around gender equality and social justice issues.

Then, there’s the fact that both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton are said to only make somewhere in the range of $375,000 per speaking engagement and thus … “insiders” dishing on the outrageous sum of $1 Million for Harry and Meghan each, leaves Royal expert rolling their eyes. It’s just extremely unlikely many believe that without the experience of the Obamas or the Clintons that either Harry or Meghan is worth that much … even if they still carried the HRH titles along with them.

Plus, although the Harry Walker agency is nothing to sneeze at, it’s not as if Prince Harry and Meghan are the only high profile people signed (outside of the Obamas and Clintons). The question as to whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are as influential as the Obamas or the Clintons isn’t really a serious one by any means. Both the Obamas and the Clintons have led one of the largest nations on the planet and have engaged in numerous foreign policy decisions that have affected the lives of millions.

Can Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say the same?

The truth is that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle is world leaders. Prince Harry was never set to become ruler of anywhere, and Meghan is … let’s face it … a talented actress but little else. While Prince Harry and Meghan may have ambitions in the political realm for the future, it’s not likely that either will step into that power in the near future.
