The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) conversation with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appeared to confirm something important. This man really is Adam.
Anyone who is familiar with this character’s backstory knows what happened when Justin Hartley assumed the role in 2014. Y&R wrote into the look difference and created a story that involved radical surgery, which created an entirely different Adam.
Genoa City didn’t recognize him when he returned as Hartley was playing the same man disguised with a new face. That, along with Grossman’s visual difference made it possible for fans to wonder if he was portraying Adam, or is some type of doppelganger.
Jack and Adam have long been friends. Their personal tie steeped in a distrust of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). So when Jack visited Adam, just prior to his release from GC Memorial Hospital, Grossman’s edition of this classic persona immediately recognized his old friend. He did that on voice recognition alone.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Is Adam An Impostor Or The Real Deal?
A look-a-like could have studied available digital video (with audio) in preparing for a revenge return. But it truly felt as though Adam simply recognized his friend Jack’s voice and was genuinely glad to see him again.
Jack did ask Adam, one on one, if the amnesia and memory issues were on the up and up. Adam looked him in the eyes and adamantly said that they were. Again, authenticity appeared present.
All of the above perceptions aren’t evidence, as would be used in a courtroom. But purely based on gut feel, let’s give Adam his due. When one considers all that he went through since Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) tried to kill him at the cabin, three years ago this coming September, it makes sense that Adam would be extremely cautious. His expressed demeanor also exists because of what he thinks of Victor.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Wants Christian Back
Having regained his memory, Adam appears to want Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) back. Then, he appears intent on leaving town so as to avoid the Newman family curse.
Actually, the word curse is too superstitious. This isn’t about fanciful beliefs. Victor is a real threat, at least in Adam’s restored memory and potentially, in his and his son’s futures.

Up next a certain reunion with Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) must take place. Fans know that Egan has already rejoined the cast and is recording scenes that will soon be seen. So with whatever happens with Christian in coming days, Nick can pull the text trigger and enable a reunion with Chelsea and Connor as well.
