The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Considers Vickie’s Conspiracy Theory – Ashley Keeps Nose To Grindstone

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) left Jabot because she felt her brother didn’t respect her on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Considering the ‘be careful what you wish for’ scenario, she’ll soon come to wonder if working with Vickie (Amelia Heinle) is worse than having remained at Jabot.

Vickie has teamed with Jack (Peter Bergman) to set Ashley up. They’ve concocted a scheme that intends to make Victor’s (Eric Braeden) Chief Innovation Officer, a newly invented position, look like she’s a Jabot mole.

Jack wants to keep Ashley away from Victor, as much as he wants her to not work for Newman Enterprises. ‘Vashley’s’ past personal connections proved damaging on many levels. Business wise, Jack is right to believe that Ashley’s knowledge and talent, combined with Newman’s big wallet could crush Jabot longterm.

The Chief Operating Officer at Newman, Victoria, was stunned to hear Ashley admit that she’s aiming for Victor’s job. The COO is therefore rightfully assuming that her ascendancy to her father’s chair is now threatened.

Surprisingly, Victor admitted to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that he believes Vickie will take over for him some day, but that it is possible Ashley could take that mantle. His game of pitting two top executives against each other has been seen before, which is another reason why Vickie is worried and has opted to work with Jack.

Ashley will be furious if she ever learns that she’s being set up. However, if Victor sees through Vickie and Jack’s plan the ‘Moustache’ seems likely to tell Jack all about it. That would further alienate the Jabot siblings.

Y&R fans must wonder if Victor anticipated some type of plot being hatched. Even if he didn’t, likely resulting bad blood between Jack and Ashley will further spurn Newman’s CIO to work harder in Victor’s favor. Daytime observers aren’t betting against him, based upon his history of winning most battles.

Vickie’s throw-in with Jack will surely be seen as a betrayal by her father. So one wonders if she’ll soon be working for Jabot if Victor fires her?
