Neighbours Spoilers: Who Killed Hamish? Check Out The List of Suspects!

Neighbours Spoilers: Who Killed Hamish? Check Out The List of Suspects! When Neighbours villain Hamish Roche came to Erinsborough, it wasn’t long until viewers and residents alike were wondering when he would leave. Well that time came earlier this week, when he was found face down in the Canning hot tub!

This whodunit storyline is sure to consume most of the screen time over the next few weeks until we find out (hopefully!) who murdered Hamish. With the sly con-man making many enemies along the way, who was at the hands of his demise?

Was it one of Ramsay Streets beloved residents, or was it a guest character, or was it even someone we don’t yet know? The soap is giving us some clues, so here is our list of who might have done it – or what might have happened. Warning: contains spoilers!

  1. Fay Brennan

As the mother of the hunky Brennan trio, Fay surely hated Hamish. Though they were once ex-lovers, he manipulated and defrauded her three boys – even tearing them apart! Though she was reluctant at first to reveal to Tyler the true identity of his father, she thought things were going alright. However, when a worried Mark called her back to Erinsborough, she realised that Louise, Hamish’s partner in crime, was the nurse tending to Russell when he died. Putting two and two together, Fay believes that Hamish and Louise played a part in Russell’s death – and now we know he died with too much potassium in his blood, it looks like she was right. With this in mind, could Fay be the guilty one?

Previously, Neighbours murder mysteries have often revealed guest stars to be the culprit, this way a full time cast member does not need to be written out. Could this be the case again?

  1. Louise McLeod

Hamish’s ex-lover Louise is another guest star who looks very likely to have committed the murder. Viewers began to see tension between the two after Hamish became romantically involved with Sheila – even though he was using her to his gain, Louise became jealous. When she began to threaten him with what she knew, Hamish was angry and later poisoned her. Stealing her epi-pen, Louise went into anaphylactic shock and became comatose. Once regaining consciousness did she decide to get revenge on Hamish – is that why she fled on the boat so quickly?

  1. Tyler Brennan

Out of all those who Hamish wronged during his time in Erinsborough, Tyler was definitely the most effected. Hamish set Tyler up to lose his job at the garage, planned to steal his boat and money, manipulated him to split up with his girlfriend, had a hand in his father’s death and alienated his brothers. That’s a long list. To make the betrayal worse, Tyler already had a bad relationship with his thought-to-be father Russell; he therefore thought he got a second chance at having an amazing father-son relationship. Clearly not.

Upcoming spoilers state that Tyler admits to hitting Hamish over the head with a gnome, but insists he was alive when he left the scene. Did the hit effect Hamish once Tyler had gone – is it just coincidence that Hamish died the same day that Tyler discovered the truth?

  1. Mark Brennan

Protective brother Mark is next on the suspect list. His detective instincts kicked off right from the start, and he immediately knew something wasn’t right. Hamish was definitely successful in his plot to ostracise Mark, painting him out to Tyler as a violent man. He not only ruined the brother’s relationship, but also called Mark’s professional integrity into question after accusing him of harassment.

He’s been known to bend the law a little from time to time, and he is a very protective brother, but would Mark do that? With actor Scott McGregor stating that he wasn’t planning to leave the show anytime soon it seems unlikely.

  1. Gary and/or Sheila Canning

As ex-con Gary said himself, Sheila is the “scorned girlfriend” of Hamish. The relationship was never real for him though, he used her purely to get the nosiest women in Erinsborough on side. She wasn’t happy to find out that Louise was also his lover, and after finding her credit card had been in Hamish’s position she saw red. Of course, she rang Gary right away and being the protective son that he is, he went straight to find her. They claimed to be staying in the hotel on the night of Hamish’s demise, which takes them away from the crime scene, but that sounds dodgy to say the least!

We know from upcoming spoilers that Gary approaches Paul for an alibi, so something doesn’t seem right. Did one – or both – of them finally get a one up on Hamish?

  1. Others

As said earlier, it doesn’t seem likely that a main character will be written out because of this storyline so who else could it be, however unlikely? There’s T-Bone, who never got paid for setting Piper up. What about someone from his past, he’s surely conned many other people.

  1. Or maybe…

Maybe it wasn’t a murder at all? All official Neighbours promos have talked about a murder, so it seems unlikely to be anything else. But many fans have suggested natural causes – maybe he got so stressed he had a heart attack then fell in the hot tub? Maybe the tax debt was too much to face now things with Tyler had been ruined, and he decided to end his own life? Or maybe one of Yashvi’s fireworks flew over the garden fence and shocked him, causing him to somehow hurt himself and end up in the hot tub. Perhaps Neighbours pulled a ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ – everyone wanted him gone after all.

Highly improbable, but what we do know is this storyline is going to be very exciting to watch, with many twists and turns. With the soap finishing for a Christmas break in a few weeks, it seems unlikely that viewers will have to wait too long to find out!
