‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Sharon Betrayed Both Brothers – Her Fate Is Sealed

Sharon (Sharon Case) acted despicably for months on ‘The Young and the Restless’. As the human wreckage accumulates she’s quickly realizing that her fate is sealed. Her marriage to Dylan (Steve Burton) is over, the tenuous trust Nick (Joshua Morrow) placed in her is gone and the custody arrangement she holds with Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is once again in jeopardy. Oh Sharon, what have you done?

Of course, Sharon was naturally confused when she first began recalling what happened to her at Fairview’s Mental Health Facility. Dr. Sandy Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) proved to be a monster as she kidnapped Christian and turned him into Sully. That’s why it would have been fully understandable if Sharon had taken a few days to come to terms with what happened. But when she didn’t tell Dylan about the ordeal almost immediately Sharon’s fate was sealed.

Oh she had plenty of opportunities to come clean. Yet Y&R’s loyal viewers saw her lie continuously. If she just had been honest last summer everyone’s collective reaction still wouldn’t have been good. But it also wouldn’t have been as bad as it was on Halloween.

Consider that Sharon used her knowledge of Sandy’s epic mid 1990’s Newman Ranch pool jump dare fail (say that ten times quickly) to blackmail her ex-husband in the spring of 2015. After Nick agreed to back off a custody demand that involved Faith, Sharon then followed through on Sandy’s bizarre scheme rather than report it? That’s way too much for anyone to take, especially Nick.

So, Sharon’s life is in shambles and she only has herself to blame. Will she exist in the cottage, waiting for some new guy to happen by and rescue her (again) Sharon has betrayed Nick and his brother through Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Maybe in the future she’ll reconnect with Nick’s other brother, Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley) and then pull the soapy rug out from under him as well. Yes, all critiques about Sharon’s free will behavior are justified, as mental health issues can’t be cited as the main reason why she perpetrated this outrageous fraud.
