‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer’s Love For Luca Won’t Protect Him From Victor, Santori’s Days Are Numbered?

'The Young And The Restless' Spoilers: Summer's Love For Luca Won't Protect Him From Victor, Santori's Days Are Numbered?Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) finally did something that was genuine on ‘The Young and the Restless’, or at least it appeared to be. Faced with news that Summer (Hunter King) wasn’t pregnant, he still asked her to marry him and she accepted. However, granddaddy dearest is hardly sentimental. So, Luca will need more than an engagement ring to protect him from Victor (Eric Braeden) now that he’s set to marry his granddaughter.

Victor’s legendary loathing of Billy (Jason Thompson) has a certain degree of justification as fans of ‘The Young and the Restless‘ know. But Luca is different than Billy-boy. The Santori family was asked to invest major moola in Newman Enterprises during a cash crunch. Then, when that crisis passed, Victor attempted to kick the family’s emissary out of his company and Wisconsin.

The dye was cast when Luca didn’t do as he was told, although Victor likely would have found some other paste to apply to the Santori clan member if that hadn’t happened. After awhile Victor found a way to expel the Santori’s, but Luca remained in town and set his sights on Summer. The often naive heir fell for his charm, but took Nick’s advice to heart as well and began questioning Luca’s motivation.

During the time when she created some emotional, if not physical distance, from Luca, Summer came to the conclusion that her boyfriend wasn’t fully truthful. Later, Luca voluntarily acknowledged that he had been using Summer in order to keep his pathway to Newman Enterprises open. He also noted that he had fallen in love with her along the way on ‘The Young and the Restless’.

Summer’s acceptance of Luca’s admission and more importantly, his ring, is obviously a major life development. How far this particular storyline will extend for King, who has gone to recurring status, due in part to her work on CBS’ prime time comedy ‘Life in Pieces’, remains to be seen. However, Gaston Villanueva’s character has the potential to remain a key foil for Victor moving forward if executive producer Mal Young sees this solid actor in Y&R’s long-term plans.
