‘Nashville’ spoilers for season 5 reveal that Joseph David-Jones has been cast as Clay after an intensive nationwide search focused mainly in Los Angeles and Nashville. This news comes hot on the heels of anther announcement of another new cast member Jakob Fine [Murray Bartlett].
TVLine reports exclusively that this will be a major recurring role. Clay is described as charming and outgoing musician with extreme mood swings. The music Clay will bring to season 5 of ‘Nashville’ is a mix of bluegrass, classic country and modern/eclectic which draws from his African-American heritage.
Fans of ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ may remember Joseph as Green Arrow aka Connor Hawke. Lionsgate TV must have seen something special in Joseph, because he worked with the film division of Lionsgate for the television move “The Divergent Series: Ascendant” which is due out sometime in 2017

‘Nashville’ is making the move to CMT for its fifth season after being cancelled by ABC due to financial reasons. According to actor Charles Esten [Deacon Claybourne] there are many more stories to be told and it was not time for ‘Nashville’ to end.
