‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 2 Spoilers: Producer Dave Erickson Reveals What Is To Come For Nick And His Family

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ part two of Season two returns August 21, 2016 to AMC. What will happen to the individual characters? At the end of the mid-season finale, the compound operated by Celia (Marlene Forte) was burnt to the ground by Daniel (Ruben Blades). No one knows if Daniel escaped the fire or not. Madison (Kim Dickens), Alicia (Alycia Debnam Carey) and Strand (Colman Domingo) escaped the compound in a truck but Nick (Frank Dillane) refuses to leave with his mother and sister, instead decides to stay amongst the living dead.

According to Dave Erickson, the producer, and writer of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’, “The big question for the back half [of season 2] is when and how will the family reunite?” Will they all reunite? Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) had split off before the compound burned because Chris’ actions were dangerous to the rest of the family. Erickson also commented, “The interesting thing will be watching them splinter off in multiple directions and seeing how each group can survive and what they do to find their place in the apocalypse.”

Nick has a completely different approach about the undead than the rest of his family. The only person who seemed to understand him was Celia and now she is gone. Will he continue to wander aimlessly amongst the undead or will he find others who have a similar understanding of the walkers?

Erickson revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “For Nick, he wants to find a place where people see the dead the way he does, where people see the dead not as a threat, not as a danger, but as an extension of themselves – sort of an evolution. That’s his goal. So, when he leaves, when he realizes Celia’s gone, and the compound is burned, he’s going to set out to find people who are more like-minded and will give him some clues along the way.”
