‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: GH Writers Passanante And Altman Tease Jason Morgan Reveal And Possible ‘JaSam’ Reunion During November Sweeps

ABC Soaps In Depth sat down with “General Hospital” head scribes Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman to get the scoop about the highly anticipated Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) reveal that is scheduled in just a few weeks. It cannot be an easy task for the writing duo to step in the shoes of former writer, Ron Carlivati. The first thing, Passanante revealed was that they wanted to bring the romance and core “GH” back on canvas. They felt that Carlivati was a talented writer, but he focused too much on the violence in the mob stories. They plan to move away from that, and tell more romantic storylines between ALL characters including the mob bosses.
The most anticipated part of Jason’s reveal is not his reaction to knowing his true identity, but the fallout about those who hide his identity from him. He doesn’t have many memories as Jason, but people want to see Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) pay for her role in the lying scheme. Passanante and Altman both feel that Liz must have consequences for her role in hiding Jake’s identity, but wanted the audience to know that Liz will be redeemed eventually. The writers explained that she didn’t tell Jake, who he really was because she loved him and wanted to keep him for herself. It’s not to excuse Liz’s behavior, exactly; however, there was a reason behind her madness. Passanante noted that Liz wasn’t the only person who will take a fall for hiding the fact that Jake is really Jason Morgan.

Altman said that there are fans rooting for Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason to rekindle their romance. At the same time, there are Liz and Jake’s fans hoping they make it through the storm of Jake’s big reveal. The GH writers noted that Liz has done a few pretty shady things in her life, but no one in Port Charles is without blame. They all have lied, cheated, and deserve to be shamed. Liz hasn’t killed anyone- yet.
Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman also revealed they had big plans for Anna (Finola Hughes). They both agree that Anna’s character is going to do great things, and it will ground her as a core character in Port Charles. She is the only person who feels like something is off about Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi), and plans to find out what he really up to in Port Charles. Clearly, she doesn’t trust him at all.

Passanante noted that Julian’s (William deVry) character was interesting because he is a mobster and has done terrible things; however, deep down, he is a great guy trying to be a model citizen. They said they cannot deny Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Julian’s family business, but Julian is stepping away and letting his villain sister; Ava (Maura West) take over the mob. It is a toss-up if the Jerome family shift lasts.
The new writing team seem to have a few great ideas for the “General Hospital” fan favorites. Do you think Ava will turn on Julian? Do you think that Jake can forgive Liz? How will Sam react when she learned Jason is alive? Will Alexis find out that Olivia adopted son is Julian’ son Leo? It’s all starting soon for November sweeps!

I know it’s a soap….but I will quit watching if Liz and Jason area togetherwith . I have never felt sorry for her
In my opinion they should write that whole character and her children out of the story . Move them out of the country.

Why would they even try to redeem Liz? What she is doing now is not just greedy but cold and calculating. I agree, send her and her brood away. On top of that, if the writers can’t see the chemistry between Billy and Kelly then they don’t deserve to write GH

It’s great that the Jason reveal is finally near. And Sam and Jason will finally reunite and Liz will pay for what’s she’s done. It’s also great that the new writers Shelly and Jean will be writing romantic stories for all the characters. And less mob violence is a really good thing without ignoring it completely. Now that Anna is suspicious of Evil Paul I like to see Rick be involved since he stole Rick’s job as DA from him to cover his Evil deeds. He did say to TJ that he was going to check this guy out. So I hope he joins Anna on this mission to expose Paul. I always felt that from day one that Rick and Anna had great chemistry. It can start as them working together and turn to friendship than love.
Liz should lose Jake/Jason and Sam and Jason should be reunited. What Liz has done is inexcusable. She need to focus more on her son Jake that was returned after 4 years being held captive by Helena, because something’s not right with that kid.
A Good way for the Jason Lie to unfold is While Patrick and Sam get ready to tie the knot,Robin returns and stops the wedding and asks for Jason. At the same time right before Liz and Jason go to tie the knot Jason remembers being married to Samantha and everything hits the fan at the same time. This is what id like to see happen after this very long very anticipated wait for the reuniting of SamSon!
Just want to add GH fans are getting inpatient for the big reunion ! Come on now.
I have been a fan of GH since the 70s, Its getting old holding off on Jason learning his identity,..The suspense is dying as u drag it out entirely to longggggggggggggg,.. N as for Liz,..come on now,..she’s played the same old role as long as i remember,…so please, the sweetness is really starting to become ridiculous. She messes up, hurts others, then ALWAYS seems to get back as “miss perfect” AGAIN,…pls STOP the insanity with her,…she should never be allowed to get back into the lives of Sam n Jason Again, n loose her son to his Dad Jason,..that will b just fine for me!…
There, is “no ‘Liz and Jason. It’s time for the writer to put Kelly and Jason back together.. Put Sam and Jason back as a family. It’s full time.!.
And Paul..I wonder what the writer have in store for that evil man Paul..that call himself commissioner.He is a commissioner of evil.he shot Sloan and put Carlos I’d.on him.and change the test.I cannot wait to see him running out of PC.!
Sam is a terrible P.I. if she can’t figure out that Jake is Jason. And what about Carly? Why hasn’t ANYONE thought “Hey, maybe Jake is Jason!” Wouldn’t they have the same eyes? Voice? I vote for Spinelli for the Big Reveal!
