‘General Hospital’ News: Jason Thompson Reveals He Is Finished Filming At “GH” Thanks His Fans

Screen Shot 2015-11-21 at 7.11.58 PM “General Hospital” fan favorite Jason Thompson revealed that November 20, 2015, was a special day to him. Not only was it his last day on the ABC daytime set, but it was also his birthday. Jason took to Instagram to announce that Friday was his last day on the set. It looks like he will hang up his “General Hospital” scrubs in time for Christmas.

Jason Thompson posted, “Yesterday Morning, November 5:55 am. It was my birthday and also my last day of playing Patrick Drake on GH after 10 years. It was a long, emotional, exhausting, thrilling at times overwhelming day, and I am so grateful for every one of those moments. Change can be exciting and scary all at once. Shake it up. See what comes out. Thank you for the Birthday wishes. Thank you for the well wishes. See you soon.”

It must have been a difficult day for him as he portrayed Patrick for over a decade. It is never easy to say goodbye, especially considering how close many of the actors are friends off the set. Chad Duell posted a Periscope yesterday that showed many people hugging him and wishing him their best.

In the Instagram post, he says he will see his fans later. Many fans took that to mean that he could be returning on another daytime soap. Is it possible that he could have inked a deal with “The Young and the Restless” as the new Billy Abbott? No one knows for sure, but it should be announced in a few weeks!

Soap Opera Spy wishes Jason Thompson the very best as he embarks on another chapter in his life. We are positive that no matter what he chooses to do, he will be a shining success.
