‘General Hospital’ News: Finola Hughes Confirms Jason Thompson Last Air Date Before Christmas

“General Hospital” Jason Thompson is leaving the ABC soap in just a few weeks. It was thought he may be staying throughout February sweeps to wrap up the storylines he is in, but it looks like he will be OUT in just a few weeks. Over the weekend, it was announced that Jason is no longer filming and is officially gone from the hit ABC daytime drama.
Jason Thompson’s last air date will be just before Christmas according to Finola Hughes at the soap opera fan event on Saturday. She revealed that he would NOT be seen at all in January. She expressed sadness that he will be leaving, but he has to do what he feels is best for himself.

CBS Soaps in Depth reported that Jason Thompson was the number-one pick for the role of Billy Abbott, and could be stepping into the role as early as early 2016. Burgess Jenkins’ contract ends on December 31, so it is very likely that Thompson could be starting to film as early as December 1, 2015, appearing on canvas mid to late January.
Another “General Hospital” news stated that Ian Buchanan could be returning to the ABC soap opera soon. He was at the same soap event and gave a glimmer of hope that Duke Davery may be returning in the future. He said, “Duke is dead, or is he?” Could that be a teaser that Duke may be returning? Buchanan was said to be in talks with a major soap opera for a return. He has worked with “General Hospital,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “Bold and the Beautiful.”

Id love to see Ian return as Duke on GH. They never should have tried to kill Duke off, he belongs with Anna!!The Billy situation I simply dont care anymore, Burgess was doing a great job, too many changes
i’m not sure if i want duke back…..robert is coming, so i say that those two should be together, let’s face it, they didn’t want duke and anna, when he was back, so why now….no
i’d rather just see him stay dead this time around…
and i did comment about billy, not sure if it went through…but i’m with you, why have him as billy if they want him on YR….then hey i have a nifty idea, create a role for him, instead of a recast, that we so don’t need nor want….

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times. Daniel Cosgrove for the role of Billy Abbott!!! He has the spunk, the comedy chops, the fire that Billy Miller had in the role. I love Jason Thompson but he is just not a good match for the other Abbotts.
Ugh…please please DON’T bring Duke back. Anna and Duke were boring as hell and I’d never like the character of Duke. I’d much rather see Robert and Anna together. Bring Tristan Rogers back full-time and let’s have some great Robert and Anna adventures and romance. Robert and Anna are simply magic onscreen and we all know PC needs this dynamic duo to keep the rift raft in PC in line.

I’m sad about jason leaving he will be missed maybe he will change his mind and return to GH later.It dont make sence to me all the alive people are leaving the show and they start bringing back the dead ones.

I have tried and tried to get an answer, what is happening to Lucas and Brad, are they still engaged, are they still on the daytime drama. What is happening, don’t the writers like gay storylines anymore. I wish that someone would answer my question. I think General Hospital is wrong to get rid of the gay characters. They were doing a good thing. They presented the gay life in a good way. It was not dirty, gross, it was life and it showed that people of the same sex could be happy. Please explain what is going on.

The business folks at general hospital made axserious error in letting Patrick get away! With ratings as low as they’ve been, why wouldn’t you do what Patrick wanted to keep a fan fave and Ana oobviously talented person…still can’t believe you let Dr clay leave either without a counter offer… Poor business judgment!!!
