Y&R Spoilers: Guilty Devon Makes A Shocking Move, Mariah Moves Into The Penthouse?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has done the time for her crime, according to the system and her mom.

Fans were gobsmacked recently when Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) proclaimed that Mariah is getting close to her release date.

What? Mariah kidnapped a child and took him on run. Should she be released back into the wild so soon?

Mariah Being Released

To be clear, Mariah didn’t just kidnap (Dom Ethan Ray Clark), she had a whole complex of other troubling behaviors going on.

This included abandoning her wife and daughter and acting on the orders of former cult leader Ian Ward (Ray Wise).

At this point in time it’s unclear if Ian was alive or imagined, but either way Mariah doing his bidding is not ok.

If you recall, Ian’s eyelids flashed open in the ambulance after his “death” at the Newman Ranch. Ian’s longevity is a whole other story, but it is remains pertinent to Mariah’s plotline.

Is Ian Alive or Dead?

Upon her release will Mariah attempt to reunite with Tessa Porter (Cate Fairbanks)? And what has happened between Tessa and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei)?

These are all loose ends that need to be tied up. But the biggest loose end is Mariah and her progress. We’ve seen nothing of her treatment or lack thereof.

Who in the world decreed that a mentally unstable criminal is ready to rejoin society after a few months of treatment at a posh facility?

Will Mariah Kidnap Again?

What’s even more mind-boggling is Sharon apparently being ok with Mariah’s hasty exit from rehab. In addition to being a humanitarian/philanthropist/barista, Sharon is the town shrink.

Surely she realizes that her daughter needs more help than what she’s been given? And where will Mariah live? Maybe that was why we saw Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) recently visit her and vow to forgive and forget that she took his son?

What Happens Next in Genoa City?

It wasn’t that long ago that Devon was crying about Mariah needing to be in prison.
