Brandi Glanville is no stranger to reality TV viewers, and her recent elimination from Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test left many people wondering how she was medically cleared to compete and others wondering what on earth made her opt for the show in the first place.

E! News reported that Glanville was “medically withdrawn” after just “14 hours” following an accident. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star jumped backward out of a helicopter.
The competitors were jumping into the water and had to exit the helicopter backward. She had “executed the beginning of the backwards jump cleanly,” but entered the water face-first. As she swam back to the dock, she said, “It’s my sternum—I can’t. My sternum is, like, f–king cracked.”
Vulture noted that Brandi “ultimately…had both a concussion and a perforated eardrum.” And that wasn’t all. Glanville later told People that the impact also dislodged one of her breast implants.
Fans Question Her Appearance
Fans who’d also seen her in Celebrity Big Brother, Famously Single, and The Traitors seemed a bit shocked that she was on The World’s Toughest Test in the first place. Why is that?
When E! News shared their story on Instagram on Friday, one fan wondered, “Why is she in à competition where she can catch an infection, when she is dealing with her ongoing medical condition??”
Another person speculated, saying, “I always wonder about all of these reality stars that have achieved stardom and loads of money. And always wonder if they are saving their money just in case. But I guess she didn’t. It’s sad…She was not in any condition to do this show. I’m surprised at George santos.”
Her Health Issues
The commenters clearly kept an eye on Brandi Glanville since before she joined Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test. For about three years, folks saw the RHOBH alum talk about a health ordeal that started after she filmed for Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco.
Her symptoms included facial swelling, lumps, and a mass located in a facial lymph node.
According to Reality Tea, which cited a GoFundMe started by a friend, she was “diagnosed with highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and mononucleosis.”
The medical procedures cost a lot of money, and Brandi Glanville said her Unfiltered podcast, “It’s just spending, spending, spending.”
So, the fan who wondered if she did World’s Toughest Test for the money might not have been exaggerating the situation.
Taking Part For Money
As for why she participated with her health issues, Glanville has since explained that money was part of the reason. She told Fox News Digital, “I had the leisure of saying no in the past, but then I had all these medical bills and whatnot. So I had to say yes.”
She also wanted to get back into life after allowing fear to take over during her health problems. Speaking with People, she said that she’d explained to the doctor what she would be doing on the show, as she’d watched it before, and he “cleared” her participation.
