Kendra Duggar’s Father Reveals Shocking Family Struggles After Taking a Stand

Kendra Duggar’s family have seemingly found themselves in hot soup after they made the choice to stand with the victim, rather their own son-in-law, in his ongoing child molestation case.

Now they’ve been reportedly displaced from the property they lived in for several years, and well, they’re desperate.

Paul Caldwell Reiterates GoFundMe Funds Won’t Be Used To Help the Duggars

After raising over $34,000 on the GoFundMe page he set up to raise funds for his family’s relocation, Caldwell has issued an update on the situation.

“We are willing to stand for the protection of the weak and vulnerable in society, because of that stand we have been put in a situation that has cause [sic] the lose [sic] of our current housing situation and employment,” Caldwell wrote on the GoFundMe page.

Caldwell further explained that “having to relocate on such short notice has left us in a bit of a financial struggle.”

He then went on to reiterate that not even a penny of the donations will be “going to help anyone who would harm children in any way.”

Caldwell had previously addressed this issue, shortly after he set up the account early April. At the time, he specified that the funds won’t be going to cover anybody’s “legal costs.” He probably added this little line due to the timing of the GoFundMe’s launch.

“The displacement fees will be for moving expenses, housing costs such as rent until we can find a place to stay more permanently,” he stated at the time.

The Caldwells had been living in the home, which is owned by Joseph Duggar, for years. In 2021, they paid $10,000 and had the property transferred to their name, per county records obtained by PEOPLE.

In early 2025, due to the property being transferred under a quitclaim deed, the property reverted back to Kendra and Joseph. No money was exchanged for this to happen.

Caldwell has also been outspoken about the charges that his son-in-law and daughter are currently gearing up to fight in court.

Calling the now 14-year-old victim courageous, Caldwell promised that he and his family intend to “stand by her” through it all.

A press release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office detailed that Joseph “repeatedly asked [the then 9-year-old] to sit on his lap” and “manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals.”
