Duggar Family News: Amy Blasts Josh’s Latest Appeal, Makes Brutal Prison Remark

Amy Duggar isn't holding back when it comes to cousin Josh Duggar's latest attempt to challenge his conviction. During a recent podcast appearance, she delivered some harsh words about his appeals and the prospect of his release. Here's what she had to say.

Duggar Family News: Amy Blasts Josh's Latest Appeal, Makes Brutal Prison Remark

If there’s one Duggar you can trust to tell it like it is, it’s our favorite cousin, Amy Duggar.

Ever since Josh Duggar was sentenced to over 12 years in prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material, he’s been trying to weasel his way out of it.

His main argument? Josh has maintained his innocence and challenged the forensic evidence used at his trial. Unfortunately for him, the courts haven’t overturned his conviction.

Now he’s behind bars, spending his days appealing the ruling. But here’s the funny part: while Josh has been trying his best to reduce his prison time, his projected release date has been pushed back more than once.

At this point, Amy would love it if he stayed calm and served his time in peace.

Key Takeaways

  • Amy Duggar blasts cousin Josh over his latest legal appeal
  • Josh continues challenging his conviction and prison sentence
  • Amy makes some harsh remarks about his future behind bars
  • Josh’s projected release date is currently February 2033
  • Amy makes it clear she doesn’t support his early release

Amy Duggar Blasts Cousin Josh Duggar For Moving Forward With Latest Appeal

Amy Duggar, 40, is not done giving Josh grief.

In the October 26 episode of Fire Chats: The Mindfire Pod, the Counting On alum shared her candid thoughts on Josh’s latest attempt at appealing his sentence.

“Give it a rest already,” Amy told host Carrie Berk.

She went on to describe what she considers narcissistic behavior, arguing that people with those traits struggle to admit when they’re wrong or accept criticism of their character.

This isn’t the first time Amy has spoken out against her cousin. In fact, Amy previously shared her thoughts about Josh’s past and his time in prison.

“I find it comical at this stage of his sentence. Just rot in there,” Amy continued of Josh’s different attempts at winning an appeal.

She also questioned what kind of life Josh expects to have after his release, including whether he believes he can return to normal life and find employment.

“There’s no way he needs to be out,” she said. “There’s no way there needs to be any kind of freedom for that man. No shot.”

As earlier reports revealed Anna Duggar’s involvement in Josh’s appeal, his legal efforts have continued to attract attention.

Josh’s latest legal efforts come after a federal judge rejected his motion to vacate his conviction earlier this year. His subsequent appeal has not overturned the conviction.

Meanwhile, Josh Duggar’s transfer to another federal prison has also made headlines as he continues serving his sentence.

At present, the earliest we can see the father of seven rejoining society is February 2033, although his projected release date could change.

But if Amy has her way, Josh would definitely be in there until the day humanity figures out a way to resurrect the dinosaurs.

Annemarie’s Take

Amy certainly isn’t holding back when it comes to Josh, and I don’t think anyone should be surprised by her reaction. She’s made her feelings about her cousin clear for years, and his latest appeal hasn’t changed her mind one bit.

What I find interesting is that Josh continues to fight his conviction while Amy is publicly telling him to give it a rest. With his projected release date still years away, I doubt this is the last we’ll hear from either of them.
