David Burke, also known as d4vd, accused of the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez took a long time to land up behind bars, and as each day passes, if he did what the prosecution alleges, it becomes a more brutal scenario.
A new video that arrived was discussed recently, and if the allegations are real, then it might explain why the prosecution considers pushing for the death penalty. Read on to find out more.
A Recap By Nancy
Nancy Grace, well-known for her crime reporting, raised more points that might point towards the prosecution being able to present the suspect as a very heartless person. On Monday night on YouTube, she initially focused on what prosecutors say led up to Celeste’s death.
She reminded true crime followers that allegedly, d4vd had been involved in a secret relationship with the teen. Then, she mentioned the motive might be because Celeste allegedly threatened to expose him.

Leaning heavily into the angle of control and fear, no doubt, that will end up playing out in court. If nothing else, it could highlight probable intent.
Levels Of Violence
Next, Grace re-examined the alleged level of violence. Previously, we reported that the autopsy suggests she was stabbed, and left to bleed out, before being cut up in “a kiddie pool.” Later, as true crime followers know, her dismembered body ended up rotting in a Tesla registered to the R&B singer.
While the defense might argue that Burke didn’t kill her, and simply panicked in an emotional response by cutting her up, that circles back to intent to murder.
A large part of Nancy’s latest analysis talked about what the prosecution claims happened after the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The claims are that he tried hiding the crime and then disposed of the body.
Radom Acts Of Violence?
According to the prosecution, none of it was random or panic-stricken. So, Nancy told her followers that his behavior “speaks volumes” when a jury is asked to decide what happened.
The intent claims also cover reported use of tools and efforts to conceal evidence. In court, expect to hear the prosecution argue that what Burke did points to an attempt to get away with a terrible murder.
The New Video
Nancy also shared a video that started circulating online. In the clip, Burke wasn’t seen, but allegedly, his voice talked about a strong smell while mentioning going to the bathroom. In the video, others were also in the house.

Why Nancy showed it, seems to be one way of highlighting the possible callousness of d4vd. She and her guest agreed that possibly, Burke referred to the rotting remains of Celeste, presumably stashed in the home, as “human feces.” And that means the “objectification” of a little girl who lost her life.
Not Yet In Evidence
From her analysis, the crime reporter suggested that the short video could be something that investigators might use. While she hinted that it could be related to a timeline, she stopped short of tying it directly to the alleged crime.
At this stage, the video hasn’t been presented in court. So, for now, it just remains part of a wide discussion about the true crime case. So, it should be noted that it’s not confirmed as evidence that the jury might see.
Reasonable Doubt During The Trial
Despite the report from Nancy seeming rather strong as a point of post-death callousness, everyone should remember that Burke pleaded not guilty. So for now, he’s presumed innocent. Notably, his defense team believes they have enough skills to challenge the timeline and any conclusions from forensic evidence.
Questions remain about exactly how Celeste died and whether the prosecution proves intent beyond reasonable doubt. No matter what happens in the trial, likely, many people will follow it closely. Mostly, that’s because of the age of Celeste and the growing high profile of d4vd Burke as an entertainer.
