The Trial Is Pushed Back

Proceedings were due to begin on Monday this week, but NewsNation reported that both the prosecution and defense “agreed to push the trial back,” citing coverage from local station 11Alive. Court officials expect to set a new date shortly. Perhaps more news will arrive by the end of this week.

According to the report, Patrick’s defense team requested more time to address “issues” involving forensic evidence and the overall “chain of custody.”

As ra reminder, the article also told readers that Sarah Grace Patrick currently faces “two counts of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two weapons charges.”

The Murder Charges

The charges stem from the February 20, 2025, shooting deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, and her stepfather, James Brock. Court TV reported that Patrick turned herself in on July 8, 2025. She was 16 years old when the killings occurred.

Investigators focused on her online activity before making the arrest. According to People Magazine, “Patrick reached out to true crime influencers to request coverage of her parents’ case.”

The outlet also spoke about influencer Allegedly Reportedly supplying them with information that “Sarah Grace” offers to provide “intell (sic)” after asking the blogger to cover her parents’ murders.”

Court Proceedings

Patrick pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and Judge Dustin Hightower refused to grant her bond during two separate hearings, citing potential flight risks and safety concerns for the surrounding community. He also took into account fears raised by other family members.

People noted that she was “seen smiling in court before she wept.” The outlet also mentioned that “her 6-year-old sister found the Brocks slain in their home. Following the discovery of the bodies, Patrick was the one who called 911 to report the killings.”

Her Grandfather Stands By Sarah

Her grandfather, Dennis Nolan, continues to defend her innocence publicly. He pointed out that the actual murder weapon remains missing, so no physical link ties her directly to the gun.

Members of her local church and her pastor also testified on her behalf, pointing to her regular church attendance and good character.

Pastor Bonner said, “She didn’t just show up on Sundays, she came during the week as well, asked questions, served, invited others, including her boyfriend at the time, and clearly found a place where she felt at home.”

The testimonies about the good character of Sarah Grace Patrick have not influenced the prosecution, who insist they have “mountains of evidence“ against her.
