How Australia Changed the Sussexes’ Standing With the Royal Family

There’s been a lot of commentary as to why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would carry their “faux” royal tours to Australia, a land that still acknowledges Charles as King. Not just the trip itself, but during the trip, Harry took care to note that he’s a “royal on tour.”

Later on, he would brazenly, for the whole world to see and hear, reject the “not a working royal” tag. Now that the trip’s been done with, and everything has strangely settled back to normal, the question remains: how will the trip affect Harry and Meghan’s already-taut relationship with the Royal Family moving forward?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle No Longer Care About Palace Opinions

Fresh off from the Australia trip, and Meghan is already slapping her children’s names and titles on As Ever candles to sell them as special Mother’s Day products.

This move alone is enough to tell anyone that the Sussexes are truly ready to live their lives without bothering about what Palace protocols dictate or doesn’t dictate.

With the Australian trip and Meghan’s move to slap her children’s titles on products drawing the Palace’s ire, communication between both parties have reportedly slowly dwindled down to zero.

“There is no relationship right now,” a source claimed. “No calls. No messages. No outreach. No backchannel. It has gone completely cold.”

Another source speaking to Rob Shuter said that the rift between the Royal Family and the Sussexes was slowly mending prior to the Australian trip, which more than served to throw a kink in the works again.

“That trip was the final break,” an insider noted. “The palace saw it as confirmation [that] they are fully out. Harry and Meghan saw it as proof they no longer need the institution.”

“They are done looking back,” the source continues, noting that the couple no longer feel like they “need Charles. They do not need the palace. They do not need permission. They’ve moved on.”

At this point, it’s safe to not trust Harry and Meghan’s idea of moving on. After spending years ridiculing the Royal Family, they look set to spend another number of years cosplaying them.
