It’s Sunday, April 17, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are visiting Bondi Beach, alongside spectators and first responders. The site is still famously known for the terror attack which claimed 15 lives and hospitalized many others last year.
Even though the incident was still alive and fresh in people’s minds, Harry opted to create a playful atmosphere by doing a weird gesture. Sadly, it did not land so well with both fans and critics alike.
Fans Criticize Prince Harry For “Slapping” A Man’s Butt During Australian Visit
Prince Harry is currently facing backlash after a video of his visit to Bondi Beach surfaced, and a segment of it happens to show him awkwardly slapping a lifeguard’s bottom.
The trip to Bondi Beach was undertaken on the last day of their four-day trip to Australia, and while the couple were beset by criticisms fresh off from landing in Australia, the latest one seems to actually hold some substance.
“Here is the video of Prince Harry slapping an Australian lifeguard on the bum and making a mockery of the whole reason he was supposed to be at Bondi – to honour those killed and injured in a dreadful terrorist attack,” the fan shared, adding, “This would be considered inappropriate behaviour from a boy and yet Harry is a 41 year old man. There is something seriously wrong with the guy?”
Another fan wondered, “No man’s ass is safe around Prince Harry! Why does he have to slap a grown man’s ass while doing an engagement?”
Observing the victim of said bum slap’s reaction, another fan took to X to blast, “Not appropriate at all! Could you imagine Prince William slapping a stranger’s bottom on a work engagement? And no, the guy didn’t look happy. I mean, this was the place where people were slaughtered in a terror attack, Meghan’s posing for pics, and he’s slapping butts?”
Others complained that Harry’s behavior borders on sexual harassment, and therefore he should be charged by the statutes of the country.
During the same beach visit, after Harry was done executing the awkward pat, his wife engaged in a long hug with a member of the lifeguarding team.
