The Traitors, Season 4 is busy filming in Scotland with the likes of Lisa Rinna. However, filming has been paused, and there’s a very good reason for it. It’s unusual, sad, and tragic, so read on for more information.
The Production Pause
This weekend, The Sun US reported that the show came to a sudden and unexpected halt. It was due to the death of a local person, and the family really wanted to bury their relative in the nearby church at the “Ardross Castle where the show is filmed.”

The relatives felt sadness and despair because the church had advised them that they couldn’t use the place for a funeral until July 1. A family member cited by the outlet wrote: “My mother has lived in Ardross for 72 years. For my mother to be denied the right to have her final farewell to Ardross in her local church is nothing less than a disgrace.”
However, after some communication, the church agreed that filming could stop for a bit to allow the family to honor the lady who passed away. So, the family member later said, “I would like to thank them for their understanding and allowing us to use the church.”
The production hiatus of the series wasn’t for long, and the outlet noted, “The situation has now been resolved. The funeral service will take place on June 27.” In fact, they are probably back at it already as time is precious to stay on schedule.
What We Know About Season 4
Peacock confirmed in May 2025 that the show is set to air in early 2026, likely premiering in January, following its usual schedule. It comes with a diverse cast including Lisa Rinna, Dorinda Medley, Michael Rapaport, Porsha Williams, and Colton Underwood.
Other folks include Mark Ballas, Stephen Colletti, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Ron Funches, Kristen Kish, Tara Lipinski, Monét X Change, Eric Nam, Caroline Stanbury, Ian Terry, and Johnny Weir.
Alan Cumming is back as the host, leading the contestants through the game of deception. It’s a hard job, but fans love his performance.
How The Game Works
The game works likes this: It’s basically a game of deception and it divides contestants into two groups: the Faithfuls and the small, secret group of Traitors. The Traitors’ goal is to eliminate the Faithfuls. While the Traitors are chosen at the start, they can recruit a Faithful to join their ranks if one of them is banished. Their small numbers are a disadvantage, but their anonymity and ability to secretly “murder” a Faithful after each Round Table gives them the edge.
