Queen Camilla's Leaked Royal Protocol Enrages Fans

Queen Camilla has found herself in the proverbial hot soup once more – and golly it hasn’t even been a great many days since she was criticized for pushing ahead of the King during some event. Oh well, what did she do now?

Fans Disagree With Royal Protocol Issued On Queen Camilla’s Behalf

Queen Camilla may have just given the Republic one more reason to shout “down with the Monarchy” at the very top of their voices.

You see, we’ve always known that Queen Camilla treasures books and women’s causes, so her appearance at a Women’s Prize for Fiction event was not the least bit surprising.

What caught most people’s attention, however, is the guidelines published beforehand on how to interact with King Charles’ wife, Camilla.

Some of these controversial rules include, “As the VIP approaches your group, please ensure you are not holding anything in your hands (put down glasses, etc.)” and “Follow her lead: allow the Queen to begin, steer and end the conversation.” If you think the first two sound ridiculous, here’s a third: “Men are expected to bow from the neck; women can either bow or curtsy. If you curtsy, it’s just a short bob and bow of the head.”

Weighing in on these protocols, anti-monarchy group’s head Graham Smith said, “The state of this nonsense.

A women’s prize event and all guests are put firmly in place with a written guide on how to talk to someone who believes she’s better than them. Is Camilla incapable of normal conversation?”

Royal Expert Denies Protocols Are Enforced, Says It’s “Courtesy”

Okay, seems like we’re not back in the middle ages everyone. What a relief! The royal protocols, per royal expert Jennie Bond, aren’t meant to be enforced, but are just there for courtesy sake.

The royal expert said: “This is the precise advice from the Palace: The King and Queen meet thousands of people each year in the UK and overseas. Before meeting Their Majesties, many people ask how they should behave. The simple answer is that there are no obligatory codes of behaviour – just courtesy.”

Smith, not willing to back down, challenged Bond’s reasoning, arguing, “Courtesy is a two way street, and is what most people show each other. A simple hello and handshake and exchange of a few words is courteous. This is deference and sycophancy.”

Honestly, I can’t even tell who won the argument. Can you?
