Josh Duggar still sits in FCI Seagoville after his sentence of 12.5 years for CSAM offenses. The former TLC star from 19 Kids and Counting seems to have shed some weight, but now he might shed even more as the prison slashed spending in the commissary. Read on for more details.

The Cut Was Not Josh’s Fault

The Sun US reported on May 20 that the cut in spending arrived after a prank went wrong. The outlet cited their source as saying, “One of the inmates played a prank on a guard. Now everyone is on a $25 commissary limit. They usually have a $360 limit a month.” Additionally, the report noted, “They are also locking them down at least two days a week.”

The tale goes like this: Someone bought some items from the shop and then used them to make a substance that ended up on a “prison worker.” It wasn’t funny for the worker because it allegedly caused “severe burns.” Apparently, the shop sells all the products needed to replicate the substance. So, by cutting spending, it would be hard to buy the necessary ingredients.

Will The Spending Cut Be Lifted?

It isn’t clear if the cuts will be lifted and improve Josh Duggar’s intake of food. Although they identified who pranked the worker, it seems like everyone is suffering. The outlet also cited a source as saying that the food portions are simply not enough for the men to stay healthy.

Being able to buy in the commissary is something that all prisoners like to do. Now, everyone will pay the price for one person who played the prank that involved “urine” as an ingredient. The commissary where Josh Duggar is housed doesn’t only sell food. It also sells toiletries and hygiene products. Probably one of them contained the chemical that caused the burn.

No Freedom Any Time Soon

Getting used to hardships is probably something that the former 19 Kids and Counting star is accustomed to by now. His chances of an early release seem slim. When he went inside, he left his wife, Anna, to raise his seven children.

Mackynzie will be 23 years old when he gets out in 2032. Her younger siblings, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella, and Madyson, will range between 11 and 21 years old. Meanwhile, a presumably much thinner Josh will be 44 and Anna will be the same age. His parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, will be in their 70s.
