Baby Jimmy Beale (uncredited) has health concerns while Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) spirals, Zack Hudson (James Farrar) plots, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) mourns, and more.
Baby Jimmy’s Health Concerns, Lauren’s Worries
Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) have just welcomed their second son, Jimmy Beale (uncredited); however, Lauren soon becomes convinced that Jimmy may have an undetected health issue.
Peter, on the other hand, is skeptical of her concerns until they uncover the truth during a hospital visit. As Lauren grapples with her worries about how her addiction might affect her baby, her stress levels rise.
They’re exacerbated by the presence of Peter’s difficult mother, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), who is determined to stay involved in their lives.
During a heartfelt conversation about addiction and motherhood, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) encourages Lauren to trust her instincts regarding baby Jimmy’s well-being.
Lauren Feels Isolated And Tensions Mount Between Lauren And Peter
Tensions escalate between Lauren and Peter ahead of their meeting with health visitor Belinda, as Lauren becomes increasingly frustrated with Belinda’s dismissive attitude towards her concerns about Jimmy.
Belinda suggests to Peter that Lauren might be experiencing postnatal depression.
Meanwhile, Cindy reaches out to her ex-husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), hoping to unite in support of Peter and his family, but Ian is unwilling to engage with her.
As Tuesday’s episode nears its end, Lauren becomes convinced that something is wrong with Jimmy’s vision after examining his eyes, and she struggles to secure a doctor’s appointment.
In a state of urgency, Lauren heads to the pediatric ward at the local hospital, insisting on being seen because she fears that baby Jimmy may be blind.
Lauren And Peter Get Bad News
In a special episode on Wednesday, Lauren stays at the hospital insisting on being seen. Peter becomes anxious when he can’t locate her, and their oldest son Louie Beale (Jake McNally) mentions seeing Lauren take pills, which worries Peter.
Later, Lauren is found by her midwife, Hanan (Isabel Adomakoh Young), who helps her and contacts Peter, raising his concerns about Lauren’s possible addiction relapse.
Peter rushes to the hospital with Ian and Linda and confronts an angry Lauren, who is upset that he suspects she has fallen back into old habits.
However, Lauren’s worries are confirmed when Hanan brings in a consultant, Miss Ayub (uncredited), who checks on baby Jimmy and finds he has serious vision problems.
Stacey Spirals
Stacey continues to grapple with the aftermath of Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) passing, retreating further into her solitude.
This leaves her daughter Lily Slater (Lilia Turner) and cousin Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) to manage the family in the absence of Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Mo Harris (Laila Morse).
Lily conceals the emotional strain from Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace). However, when Freddie discovers that Lily is skipping school to handle family duties, he informs a stunned Kat.
Upon witnessing the disarray in the Slater household, Kat steps up and enlists the help of her partner Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), along with Eve and Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal).
Fears For Stacey’s Mental Health Increase
Stacey’s family worries about her mental health as she dismisses their concerns after coming out of her room, which makes Lily upset.
By the end of the week, Stacey decides to host a big dinner to bring the family together, but this worries Kat; she and Lily fear a bipolar episode.
Stacey’s cheerful mood fades when she discovers that Freddie has taken her phone, which holds memories of Martin, to the laundromat.
In a panic, she rushes to get it back just as her son Arthur shares troubling news with Alfie; at the laundromat, Kat and Lily approach Stacey.
When Alfie reveals Arthur’s news, a confrontation between Lily and Stacey puts their relationship at risk. Can Stacey mend her bond with Lily and cope with the loss of Martin?
Zack Plots To Get Barney Away From Nicola And Teddy
Zack Hudson is worried about his family’s safety but feels relieved when his ex-partner, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), tells him that she and their baby Dolly Dean-Hudson (uncredited) are safe.
They’re far away from Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington). Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) encourages Zack to join them to escape Nicola’s influence, but Zack refuses to leave his biological son, Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman), with Nicola and Teddy Mitchell (Ronald Manookian).
When Barney expresses his feelings of loneliness, Zack decides to leave Walford with him.
Throughout the week, Zack collects proof against Nicola and Teddy to show that Barney is in danger, but Vicki becomes worried about Zack’s intentions. Is Zack taking a big risk?
Nigel Mourns While Harvey Pays
As Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) grapples with young-onset dementia, he feels a deep sense of sorrow as the 40th birthday of his estranged adopted daughter, Clare Bates (Gemma Bissix), approaches.
His friend Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) urges him to reconnect with Clare and mend their fractured bond; but Yolande soon finds herself at odds with Nigel—could his health issues be the cause?
Meanwhile, after their affair was dramatically revealed the week before, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) are enjoying their new relationship.
But their happiness is short-lived when Kat unexpectedly dismisses Harvey from her taxi business, leaving him on the hunt for new employment. Harvey finds himself paying for his sins in a very expensive way!
