Y&R Spoilers: Ashland Upset By Decision – Adam Is Victor’s Proxy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) is upset that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is tapping Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to run the show. Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) tries to convince her husband that the move is nothing to worry about, but Ashland does not agree.

Victor’s decision came as a surprise. He feels that Victoria’s lack of openness about her plan to deal with Ashland leaves the company vulnerable.

Ashland, in fighting to maintain the power he has meticulously gained, sees Adam’s elevation as an unwanted wrinkle on Y&R.

Today’s Adam evolved past his bad-boy days when he despised Victor and felt like the banished child of the family. Grossman’s version went through a metamorphosis that involved Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) emotional struggles leading to a leap off a jungle gym and the incredible reveal about Adam’s childhood trauma in Kansas, which involved killing a man in defense of his mother.

Adam wants to please Victor, with his goal of leading Newman Locke an outgrowth of that. He is not trying to push anyone out of power but believes, like Victor, that Victoria can not handle her duties right now.

Victoria has Ashland, Victor, and Adam, among others to consider. Confirming Ashland’s duplicity is harder because of the pressure Victor is applying.

Adam is seen as an annoyance who can be handled. But that could prove to be Victoria’s undoing, as Adam is no lightweight when it comes to realizing objectives, especially where the family business is concerned.

Attempting to coordinate three determined forces is quite the task for Victoria to pursue. But she can not be underestimated, as she is her father’s firstborn.

Ashland is sticking to his story. He insists to those he cares about, which seems to be Victoria and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), that a frame job happened.

Time is passing while Ashland appears to be creating proof of his claimed innocence. This is soap, so it remains possible that, whatever his cancer reality, someone is additionally trying to make him look bad.

Victoria is teased to use Adam as the framer, with Ashland potentially playing into that ruse. There is no way to know who or how many of these combatants will come out ahead, with viewers enjoying the daytime ride.
