Virginia Roberts Guiffre’s Allegations Against Prince Andrew

Guiffre alleges that she was trafficked by now-deceased, convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, and his partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell and forced to engage in sex acts with the prince on three separate occasions when she was just 17 years old. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied the allegations.

In a statement, she shared with People Magazine Guiffre wrote, “Today my attorney filed suit against Prince Andrew for sexual abuse under the Child Victims Act. As the suit lays out in detail, I was trafficked to him and sexually abused by him.”

She then went on to lay out a series of three separate events where Prince Andrew sexually abused her over the span of years between 1999 and 2002.

Prince Andrew’s Defense: It Never Happened

Prince Andrew’s 11-page set of court documents outline a series of defenses, “without assuming the burden of proof, and expressly denying any and all wrongdoing.” The documents include a request for dismissal on the grounds that Guiffre was “a resident of Australia” and that by entering into the 2009 civil agreement with Epstein she “waived the claims now asserted in the complaint.”

The prince’s attorneys argued earlier this month that the case should be dismissed on the grounds that Guiffre accepted a $500,000 settlement from Epstein in which she had agreed not to sue any other “potential defendant.” Unfortunately for Prince Andrew, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York wasn’t hearing it.

Queen Elizabeth Distances the Royal Family From Prince Andrew

Guiffre said in a previous statement that she was “holding Prince Andrew accountable” for what he did to her, adding that “powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions.” She went on to say that she had hopes that “other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but to reclaim one’s life by speaking out and demanding justice.”

Prince Andrew was stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages earlier this month as Queen Elizabeth II sought to distance the Royal Family from the tawdry scandal. Be sure to stay apprised of all things royal and return here often for more spoilers, news, and updates.
