Michelle Duggar – Returns To Instagram Amid Questions

In the wake of Josh Duggar’s child pornography scandal, “19 Kids And Counting” matriarch Michelle Duggar and patriarch Jim Bob Duggar temporarily stopped posting to their Instagram accounts. But the couple couldn’t resist a return to celebrate their son Jeremiah’s wedding day! In the new post, Michelle wrote, “We were so happy to celebrate with Jeremiah and Hannah at their beautiful wedding yesterday! Congratulations on this exciting new chapter in your lives as husband and wife! ? @jerduggar @hannahwissmann.”

But while Michelle’s followers happily responded to her post, some Duggar family followers wondered about Jeremiah’s courtship of his new wife Hannah. Did her son follow all those rules about courtship? Michelle once shared those rules with Today

“Rule 1: Courting is not dating; it’s dating with a purpose,” according to Michelle. And a chaperone must accompany all courting activities. In addition, her sons and daughters could not kiss or even hold hands during the courting stage. “But they have committed to waiting for the first kiss till marriage,” added Jim Bob. “They will also wait until they are engaged before they hold hands.”

Did Jeremiah Duggar Follow Courtship Rules?

Based on those rules, it seems as if Jeremiah Duggar didn’t exactly stick to the plan. For instance, prior to their engagement, his now-wife Hannah Wissman posted a pic to Instagram in which she and her then-boyfriend Jeremiah boosted their PDA above Duggar family limits. “Never been so happy. Never felt so blessed!! Getting to know each other has been one of the greatest joys of our lives!” gushed Hannah.

And she used the hashtag “#myboyfriend” rather than courting. As a result, fans at the time questioned what had happened to cause Jeremiah to ignore Duggar family courtship rules. For instance, one follower bluntly demanded, “Where is your ring?!”

However, the “19 Kids And Counting” clan may feel so happy to embrace a distraction aside from scandal-creator Josh Duggar that they can forgive a few minor courtship rule infractions! And even if Hannah and Jeremiah didn’t follow strict protocol per Duggar standards, the two have known each other for years. As a result, Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar just want to focus on wishing them well.
