Gabby Petito’s Parents Sue Brian Laundrie’s Parents
The tragic death of YouTube Vlogger Gabby Petito has led to a lawsuit against her killer, Brian Laundrie’s parents. Petito’s parents allege that Laundrie’s parents knew more about Gabby’s death than they let on.
Gabby Pettito’s – Parents Want Justice
According to the lawsuit filed by Gabby’s parents, according to TMZ, the Laundries not only knew what Brian did to Gabby but also were in the process of helping him to leave the country. Gabby’s autopsy revealed that she suffered both blunt force trauma to her head and neck as well as strangulation. The lawsuit was filed by Gabby’s father, Joseph Petito, and her mom, Nichole Schmidt, further claim that Brian used Gabby’s phone to send text messages to make it seem like she was still alive.
Gabby’s parents allege that Brian sent a text from Gabby’s phone referring to her grandfather by his given name, Stan. The lawsuit claims Brian was using Gabby’s phone up until at least August 30 — 3 days after she was murdered — to communicate with Schmidt, saying there was poor cell service in Yosemite.
Gabby Petito’s – Family Believe Brian Laundrie’s Parents Knew What Happened
The Petito family believes that Brian told his parents the day after Gabby’s murder what had happened. The Laundries spoke to the lawyer and hired him days later. Gabby’s parents claim to have had a pleasant relationship with the Laundries before Gabby’s death. However, when things got bad, Brian’s mom blocked Gabby’s on cell phones and social media. “While the docs don’t get into detail on exactly how … they read, ” … Christopher Laundrie and Roberta Laundrie were keeping the whereabouts of Brian Laundrie secret, and it is believed were making arrangements for him to leave the country.”
Gabby Petito’s – Parents Have Suffered Emotional Stress
Petito’s family believes that Chris Laundrie and Roberta Laundie could have saved them much anguish by telling the truth from the start. The Petito family believes that the Laundrie’s led them on while trying to assure that Brian had an escape route to another country. “’Christopher and Roberta Laundrie exhibited extreme and outrageous conduct which constitutes behavior, under the circumstances, which goes beyond all possible bounds of decency and is regarded as shocking, atrocious, and utterly intolerable in a civilized community,’ the lawsuit reads.
The Laundrie’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, maintains his stance that the Laundries have no obligation to speak to anyone in the Petito family or law enforcement. If these allegations were true, they would not have to talk to the Petito’s or anyone else. However, Bertolino claims that the allegations are false. This lawsuit may force more evidence obtained in the investigation to be released to the public
