EastEnders Spoilers: Lord Michael Cashman Drops Hints About Emotional Return For Tribute To June Brown

EastEndersEastEnders spoilers, news, and updates tease that Lord Michael Cashman shared some details about his return for the emotional episode dedicated for Dot Branning (June Brown). The actor is reprising his role as Colin Russell since his last appearance, which was back in 2016.

The actor recalled the time when he return to the show in 2016. The storyline involved working specifically with June Brown. His character, Colin, invited Dot for his wedding. It’s been years since then but he felt like he was never away. He’s grateful to everyone for being so welcoming, warm, and generous.

“I was overcome when, after some of the scenes which were very dramatically challenging for the actors, I heard their colleagues applaud them. It lifted my heart,” he shared.

EastEnders Spoilers – How Did He Get The Offer To Return?

Cashman shared that he received a message asking him if he wanted to return to the show and he said yes. He can’t imagine his alter ego not being present at Dot’s funeral and for June Brown’s final send-off.

“She created a television icon that will stretch beyond the test of time. I had to be there, and I was humbled that they thought of me,” he said.

EastEnders Spoilers – Reuniting With Co-Stars

Thanks to the tribute, Cashman got the chance to reunite with his co-stars, such as Tom Watt (Lofty Holloway) and Linda Davidson (Mary the Punk). He shared that being able to work with Lofty and Mary the Punk once again felt like he’s back with the people he was with when he was still riding a bike. He felt like the clock was turned back to 40 years ago. While filming his scenes, he felt like he was having a date with the past and he was always satisfied. He enjoyed working with the cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Mary “The Punk” Smith was last seen in EastEnders with Lofty Holloway in 2019 when they returned for the funeral of Dr. Harold Legg. Linda Davidson felt honored for being part of the special tribute.

Jacqueline Jossa is also reprising her role as Lauren Branning. The actress hopes that he return of her character would have a “positive and light” effect. She’s sad that her grandma is gone but she feels “bittersweet” as she returns to her hometown.
