Duchess Of Cornwall To Concentrate On Her Health After Covid-19

Duchess Of Cornwall This is the second engagement that Camilla has cancelled since she recovered from Covid and returned to her duties. Reportedly, the Duchess wants to concentrate on her health as she battles with lingering symptoms.

Camilla Is Pacing Herself After Her Bout With Covid-19

The 74-year-old royal recently cancelled her engagement at Cheltenham at the last minute because she physically couldn’t make it possible.

After suffering from Covid alongside her husband Prince Charles, the Duchess has decided to take it easy so that she doesn’t burn herself out. On Wednesday, March 16, she was due to spend a day at the Cheltenham Festival, where she would have presented a trophy to the winning owner, jockey and trainer of the Queen Mother Champion Steeple Chase.

However, hours before she was set to arrive at the location, Clarence House released a statement that Her Royal Highness sadly won’t be able to keep the engagement. She still suffers from lingering cough and it is understood that she’s been pacing herself after her illness.

This week alone has seen the elderly royal miss two separate events. On Monday, she cancelled an appearance at an evening event where she was due to meet High Commissioners and Commonwealth Secretariat staff with Charles. However, earlier that day, she mustered the strength to attend the Commonwealth service alongside her husband Charles, and other royals, including Prince William, Kate Middleton and Princess Alexandra earlier that day.

On Tuesday, she appeared to be in good form at the Irish Cultural Center in west London, where she visited with her husband to celebrate upcoming St. Patrick’s Day. For the outing, Camilla stunned in an elegant green “Loella” printed silk crepe de Chine shirt dress from Samantha Cameron’s designer brand Cefinn.

Camilla On Battling With Cough After Her Covid Diagnosis

During an International Women’s Day event, which took place in early March, the royal shared her experience battling with lingering symptoms of the coronavirus. She was diagnosed with the illness just days after her husband tested positive with it for the second time.

She told rowers Kat Cordiner, Abby Johnston, and Charlotte Irving, that she was still struggling to “shake off” her battle with Covid nearly a month after she contracted it. “It’s taken three weeks and still can’t get shot of it,” Camilla said. “Probably my voice might suddenly go and I might start coughing and spluttering.”
