B&B Spoilers: Is Thomas Fit To Get Custody? Matthew Atkinson Responds

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers show that the custody battle over Douglas Forrester (Django Ferri) is really starting to heat up and people are choosing sides. The line between the Forresters and Logans has never been more clear and it’s almost perfect how they have divided up among their families.

While the question has been between Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) or Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), I think we need to take a real minute before we decide and figure out if Thomas is really fit to be a full-time parent. It was not long ago he was sneaking around people’s homes and falling in love with a doll.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Is Thomas Forrester Emotionally Stable?

During an interview with TV Insider, Atkinson was asked about Thomas’s role in Douglas’s life and how he has not always been the most understanding parent, and how this affects him today. Atkinson responded, “Yes. As an actor, it’s important to be as empathetic a person as possible. You have to be able to empathize with your character. When you’re playing “mean” to a child, it triggers every protective [feeling] within me. That was very hard. I had to cultivate an environment with Henry [Joseph Samiri, who played Douglas at the time] where we played around and I made sure that he felt comfortable with me doing those things — that they were make-believe.”

B&B Spoilers – How Far Will Thomas Forrester Go?

Thomas is going to have one heck of a fight to try to get full custody from Hope, but many think he will succeed and go the distance. In the same interview, Atkinson spoke about how much faith he has in Thomas winning the case and getting custody of his son, “I think he’s got good ground to stand on. It doesn’t make sense for Thomas to give his son up to another family. Hope’s the mother, but that doesn’t mean that Hope and Liam are the [only] parents. A lot will depend on how much Hope fights back.”

The battle is going to rage on, but from Atkinson’s perspective, it feels like he has it in the bag. Maybe we should be more worried for Hope and the rest of the Logans because Thomas is not going to back down.
