Royal Family News – Prince William’s New Book

His brother Prince William followed up with his own book news and will be writing the introduction for the definitive book of the prestigious environmental award program. The book will be launching on October 5, 2020.
Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet Details

The Earthshot book is set to explore how we can save the planet and is written by two authors, Colin Butfield and Jonnie Hughes, with an introduction by the Duke of Cambridge. The book will feature additional contributions from naturalist and broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough, activist Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, singer/songwriter Shakira, and former astronaut Naoko Yamazaki. It will give an in-depth picture highlighting the urgency of the environmental challenges facing the world, as well as the solutions that are already taking place.

The authors issued a joint statement about the goals of the book, writing: “The Earthshot concept is simple: we have 10 years to turn the tide, 50 ingenious ideas, and one goal – to save our planet. What we need is action and optimism. Our book reaches from the coral reefs of Mexico, via palm oil plantations in Borneo and sheep farms in Australia, to the forests of Kenya.”

The book will be published ahead of the Earthshot Prize ceremony, hosted in London on Sunday, October 17, 2021. It will be accompanied by a five-part BBC One series that is expected to premiere this fall. The series will focus on different aspects of Prince William’s £50 million Earthshot Prize.

Royal Family News – Prince William’s Involvement In The Earthshot Prize

The Prize was launched in 2020 by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who see it as a means to combat the stressing needs of the planet and protect wildlife, as well as vegetation and the natural environment.

The annual prize award will recognize the best solutions to fix our deteriorating climate and help to scale these solutions to a size that will make a positive impact on the environment. The winners must strive to achieve at least one of the five Earthshot goals: Protect and restore nature; Clean our air; Revive our oceans; Build a waste-free world, and Fix our climate.
