When Quinn and Shauna repeat this phrase, their voice elevates just a bit. They also make sure to slowly, but firmly enunciate each word. The statement is a “power suggestion,” a specific phrase that puts a hypnotized person in a trance, even if they are no longer under hypnosis.

We saw when Ridge wasn’t ready to sleep in the same bed as Shauna. She kept using variations of “I am your wife,” “As your wife, let me act like it” and “As your wife, I’ll be loving, loyal and devoted.” The minute that Shauna said the “wife” phrase, Ridge’s eyes glazed over. His shoulders slouched a bit and he instantly looked more relaxed. Then, he seemed to accept and agree with everything Shauna was saying.

The total blackout in Las Vegas, the blank stare and not being able to explain anything or answer questions.

Actor John McCook told Soap Opera Digest that Eric Forrester knows something “isn’t right with Ridge’s thinking.” Perhaps that’s because he’s not doing much thinking of his own… Shauna and Quinn have made sure of that. However, when will everyone else find out the truth.
