Not everyone is strong enough to deal with a devastating diagnosis like Sally’s, having been given only one month to live, and even though Katie promised not to tell anyone, Katie may have a hard time dealing with it herself and so talk to her husband about it. Besides, Sally needs lots of strong shoulders to lean on and lots of loving friends since she has no family left, and Katie, feeling somewhat motherly to her, doesn’t want her to just be like an orphan in the storm!

But it’s too much for Katie to deal with on her own and to be the only shoulder for Sally! So she leans on the strong shoulder of her husband – who is also the father of Sally’s fiancé Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) who Sally has chosen to leave out of the loop! Sally knows if Wyatt knows he’ll pity her and break off with Flo Fulton, (Katrina Bowden) and come back to her for however short of time and that’s not a good reason to be with someone! Wyatt truly does care about Sally, it’s just that he never truly got over his high school sweetheart, Flo!

Sally is so young for something so horrible like this to happen to her, Katie will cry to Bill. She’s not even into her thirties yet and has never had the chance to be married or have children, and she doesn’t have any family close by so she needs all the love and support from friends that she can get! Katie may talk to Bill about Wyatt needing to know too, and Bill may agree but advise that it’s not their place to tell him – it’s Sally’s, and if she doesn’t want him to know then they need to respect her wishes.

Bill will tell Katie that she probably shouldn’t have even told him if she had promised Sally that she wouldn’t tell anyone else, but if Katie is emotional then it’s understandable that she can’t hold it inside and needs to share this burden with someone, and who better than her husband?

Katie wants to encourage Sally to fight for her life – but Sally needs motivation, and she’s not sure how to motivate her. Of course, right now Sally is still in shock and adjusting to being told the devastating diagnosis. Apparently this is something that is inoperable and out of reach of chemotherapy or radiation so all she can see ahead is her death, and that’s not something that anyone looks forward to!
