Royal Expert Claims Sussexes Face Frogmore Eviction after Massive Santa Barbara Purchase

British tax expert David Lesperance sensationally told a tabloid that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could soon be evicted from Frogmore Cottage following their purchase of a huge mansion in California. Of course, no one believes this will actually happen. While Frogmore Cottage doesn’t officially belong to Harry and Meghan despite the fact that it was given as a gift to them by Queen Elizabeth, it’s not likely that the Crown will yank the property from under them.

Mr. Lesperance went on at some length detailing the relationship between taxes, the Crown Estate, Harry and Meghan’s financial situation, and his belief that they could be evicted from Frogmore. Many fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don’t see any of the hype surrounding this as relevant, however. Even though Prince Harry and Meghan have suggested that Frogmore will be their “home base” when they are in the U.K. it doesn’t appear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have plans to return to Britain for any length of time. Therefore, whether Prince Harry and Meghan are ever evicted from Frogmore Cottage or not is a subject about which many care.

Harry And Meghan Don’t Need Frogmore

The truth is that with the Coronavirus pandemic limiting the travel of billions of people worldwide, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the importance of Frogmore Cottage to the Sussexes is questionable. The pair have purchased a mega-mansion in Santa Barbara to the tune of $14.7million (£11.2million) on June 18. With a $9.5million (£7.2million) mortgage. Reportedly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to push the idea that this was a purchase made entirely on their own. In other words, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would have fans believe that they had no “help” in buying the property.

However, this is like Harry and Meghan attempting to pull the wool over the sheep’s eyes. While Prince Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall may not have helped to buy Prince Harry’s new real estate directly, it did help free up Harry’s own cash. Indeed, Prince Charles ensured that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle had to pay for their extremely costly security details. Therefore, Prince Harry and Meghan were able to take any money they would have spent on security and put it toward the purchase of their new home.

Harry And Meghan Didn’t Buy It “On Their Own.”

Despite what Meghan, Harry, and some in the media might have one belief, it’s not as if they went out and earned the money they spent on their new $14.7million mansion. No indeed, everyone must remember that Prince Harry already had a net worth of over $40 Million. That money didn’t come from Prince Harry’s days working in the British armed forces. Instead, much of it came from Prince Harry’s inheritance.

Thus, Prince Harry and Meghan’s gigantic purchase can be compared to an adult handing a child a $100 bill. That child, like Harry and Meghan with their new mansion, then goes out and buys an expensive video game and tells his friends, “look what I bought all by myself!”
