Prince Harry and Meghan's Pal Claims Couple Never Agreed to Sandringham Summit TermsPrince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pal claims the couple never agreed to the terms of the Sandringham Summit.

Shortly after Prince Harry listed “Prince of England” as one of his occupations in a podcast interview, he and his family moved back to the UK.

Since then, their press team has reportedly been trying to, in one way or another, shape the narrative around their return.

One of the first ways they did this was to counteract the Lord Chamberlain’s letter that described them as “private citizens.”

These days, following their string of Nottingham engagements on Thursday, October 15, we’re hearing that they are disgruntled over the Palace imposing its rules on them without even acknowledging their half-in, half-out proposal.

  • Harry and Meghan challenge the private-citizen label.
  • Meghan reportedly eyes an acting comeback.
  • Harry remains focused on charitable work.

Meghan Markle Insider Claims Duchess Has Other Plans Outside of Doing Faux-Royal Engagements

In 2020, Harry and Meghan left the UK to start anew in America.

In 2026, they returned, despite Harry repeatedly proclaiming that he couldn’t envision bringing his wife and children to the UK without adequate police protection. Oh well.

As previously reported, Harry and Meghan’s UK return has already reignited questions about their security arrangements.

However, due to the nature of their activities since returning to the UK, many have accused them of trying to set up a rival royal court.

But if you ask Harry and Meghan’s supporters, the so-called Sandringham Summit agreement that reduced them to “private citizens” was never something they willingly embraced.

An insider told The Sunday Times that the arrangement was decided for the Sussexes rather than agreed upon by them.

The source argued that engagements like Nottingham aren’t conducted on behalf of the monarchy, but Harry remains the King’s son and a member of the royal family.

The insider also suggested that calling Harry and Meghan “former royals” is misleading because it influences how the public perceives them.

Of course, the distinction between being a member of the royal family and being a working representative of the monarchy remains central to this disagreement.

In fact, Harry has reportedly blamed Prince William for the chilly reception surrounding his return, although the Palace has not confirmed those allegations.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Different Professional Pursuits

This, nevertheless, does not mean that Meghan is eager to spend her days planning royal outings and engagements.

Nope, she’s reportedly reading scripts and deciding which one would provide her with the best opportunity to make a grand comeback to acting.

The insider claimed that Meghan’s days aren’t organized around a schedule prepared by a royal private secretary.

Instead, she’s focused on motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the responsibilities that come with both.

Harry, on the other hand, reportedly remains determined to focus on his philanthropic work and public service.

The source also suggested that the couple’s joint charitable engagements won’t become a regular feature of their schedules.

In other words, royal watchers shouldn’t necessarily expect Harry and Meghan to appear together at every public event.

They also noted that Harry and Meghan have very different professional pursuits.

And as reports about Meghan’s acting ambitions and the couple’s increasingly separate professional schedules continue to circulate, questions remain about how the Sussexes intend to balance their British and American commitments.

For now, it appears Harry and Meghan want to maintain their royal connections without returning to the restrictions of their former working roles.

Whether the Palace will ever become comfortable with that arrangement remains to be seen.

Annemarie’s Take

I think Harry and Meghan are trying to have it both ways again.

They wanted to leave royal duties behind and build independent careers, which was entirely their decision.

But now that they’re back in Britain, it seems their supporters want everyone to remember that Harry is still the King’s son.

Well, of course he is. Nobody can take that away from him.

However, being a member of the royal family doesn’t automatically mean Harry and Meghan get to represent the monarchy whenever they choose.

What interests me most is Meghan’s reported acting comeback. If she’s serious about returning to television or film, that could give her a completely different professional direction.

And Harry clearly wants to continue his charitable work, especially with causes that have been important to him for years.

Maybe separate professional paths will work better for them than trying to recreate their old royal arrangement.

But I don’t see King Charles suddenly agreeing to the half-in, half-out deal that was rejected in 2020.

Do you think Harry and Meghan should be allowed to carry out royal-style engagements independently, or should they accept the boundaries established when they stepped down?
