Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Met On A Blind Date, But Who Set Them Up?

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Whoever set up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on a blind date, which ultimately led to their marriage, had to have been mutual friends. Duh. However, as simple as that logic might sound, nobody until now has had a glimmer about who set up Prince Harry and Meghan! That’s all changed though, with the release of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s tell-all book, “Finding Freedom.” The book was released on August 4, 2020.

Now, according to Finding Freedom, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s mysterious love benefactor could have been a few different individuals. It’s a royal spoiler, but the book doesn’t explicitly name the cupid who shot the arrow of love into Harry and Meghan’s hearts. Royal fans will have to be satisfied with some juicy hints at who actually introduced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to one another.

When Harry Met Meghan

As reported by Mr. Scobie and Ms. Durand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have been set up by a woman named Violet von Westenholz. Ms. Westenholz is a Ralph Lauren PR executive who knows Prince Harry because she used to ski with him when they were younger. In fact, her father, who was a former Olympic skier by the name of Frederick Patrick Piers Baron von Westenholz (try saying that ten times fast), was good friends with Harry’s father, Prince Charles.

On the flip side, Violet von Westenholz knew Meghan because Meghan had recently become a brand ambassador for Ralph Lauren. Therefore, Violet knew Prince Harry from her skiing days back in Europe, and she knew Meghan from work. Voila! Violet is thus a suspect in the love crime; some believe Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship to be!

However, there’s one thing that might put the lie to the assertion that it was Violet who put the twinkle for Prince Archie in his parents’ eyes. Finding Freedom goes on to say that Violet von Westenholz may not have been “in on the first meeting.”

The Way to Harry’s Heart

They say the way to a man’s heart is through food. So it could be that Prince Harry was introduced to Meghan Markle by the membership director of Soho House in Canada. Soho House, which is a chain restaurant and group of private members’ clubs, is headed up by a man named Markus Anderson. It is he that Finding Freedom suggests could have presented Meghan Markle to Prince Harry for the first time. (Or vice versa).

Yet, this introduction between Prince Harry and Meghan wouldn’t have been something Markus did by himself. Instead, he had an accomplice in yet another mutual friend of Prince Harry and Meghan’s. That would have been Misha Nonoo, a Bahraini-British fashion designer whose husband was friends with Prince William and Prince Harry. Together, Markus and Misha could have been the pair that helped cause love to blossom between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Night Before Harry Met Meghan

Of course, Finding Freedom names one last individual who could have introduced Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. That man is Misan Harriman, the son of Chief Hope Harriman, who happens to be one of the founding fathers of modern Nigeria.

The thing here is that Misan is known to have gone to dinner with Meghan. He is also good friends with Prince Harry and Prince William. Yet, he and Meghan went to dinner together only the night before the American actress met the British prince.

It seems, then, that option number two is the simplest explanation as to just who caused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to get together.
