General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine Has A Heart To Heart With Nina

GH fans recently watched as Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) ran from her mother’s home after she overheard her grandmother, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) discuss Valentin’s plans to give up custody. Viewers saw Charlotte become extremely upset, practically going out of her mind with worry and fright that Valentin would leave her forever. Charlotte headed over to the offices of Nina at Crimson magazine. Nina called Valentin and let him know that there was a crisis and Valentin rushed over.

There, Valentin confessed his plans to be noble and walk away from Charlotte, leaving her in the care and custody of Lulu Spencer-Falconeri (Emme Rylan). If Valentin could prevent Charlotte from growing up and becoming a bad person, the way Valentin felt that he was a bad person, then he would have done a good thing. Valentin would have saved Charlotte.

However, while Nina agreed with Valentin’s intent, she completely disagreed with his course of action. She believed that Valentin needed to fight for his daughter.

Valentin nearly broke down in tears, which says something about how intensely he was torn inside over the entire plan to leave Charlotte in Lulu’s custody. It’s also clear that Valentin has carried around a lot of self-loathing over the years. Yet, GH fans watched as Valentin took to heart as Nina encouraged him. In fact, it’s probable that Nina is the only GH character that Valentin would give the time of day. It’s clear Nina’s words moved him.

Nina let him know that she believed in him and that she didn’t believe that Valentin was the type of man to simply give up on those he truly loved. GH viewers watched as Valentin’s facial expressions gave away the fact that he was slowly going from feeling broken inside to someone with a clear resolve to be the better man that Nina believed he could be.

General Hospital Spoilers – But Will Valentin Be Good – For Good?

No one changes overnight. Valentin probably won’t either. Yet, if Valentin can carry around inside his mind and heart the knowledge that he has two amazing people who believe in him … sometimes that’s really all a man needs. Many GH viewers may have heard the platitudes one hears from therapists often … “You have to be whole with yourself.” That might be true to an extent, but it sure helps when you have others who support you in your goals.

The fact that Valentin also has two reasons in the form of Nina and Charlotte to change his life course might just be enough. If that happens for Valentin, GH fans just might see one of the most despicable characters on General Hospital find redemption.
